View Full Version : CD/DVD drive question..
Hi gang.. My dvd/cd drive - will burn cd's but when I try to install new software - :boo: I've tried going thru the explorer and I've tried doing "Run" and nada. Is something somewhere clicked off or something or does this sound just like the drive itself? Thanks for any help.

Most name brand systems such as Dell and HP etc all come with a diagnostics CD/DVD you can run to test all the hardware components. You can also download the program from their sites and burn it to a disk. Boot the system up with that disk and let it run diagnostics on the drive.

Sometimes software needs to be copied to your hard drive first, then installed.
