I just got a new computer and of course that means VISTA!! (Yay me!!!) Anywhoooooo......I had DVD Shrink on my old comp which allowed me to save movies to my computer for strictly back up reasons, (I would never think about doing anything illegal). Of course DVD Shrink does not work with Vista, so does anyone have any good suggestions for a comparable program that I could download on my lovely new computer? Thanks!

There's DVDFab, but I haven't tried it on Vista.

You can use it in "demo" mode forever. It will copy DVDs but you won't have access to other options. Free version works fine.

Will it allow you to burn a copy?

UPDATE: Wow - I go through the trouble of finding that DVD Shrink may in fact have a Vista Version and nomoney doesn't even acknowledge my efforts. Oh well...:killingme

downloaded the free version lastnight and did a practice "backup", it worked great and is pretty comparable to Clone DVD that I've used before. The demo was for the newest version and it says I only have 30 days though, I'll see if it stays in demo mode forever after the 30 days. Thanks!

I'll have to check tonight what version I have. I know mine does not time out, been using it for a year or so.

I have version 5.0.3.0, and when I launch it, I get a window indicating the product is expired and I should purchase a license. However, middle way down that screen is a button "Start DVDFab HD Decryptor", and I always click on that. It brings up the program with very few options enabled, but it has what I need.

Shrink works on my computer with Vista. Shrink was put out of business a few years ago by Sony. They gave one more screw Sony y puting it on the internet for free. Shrink does not work with Some New DVDs. You need to download load DVD Fab. It works just fine. Try this site. I find it to be the best free software site.:howdy:
