Does your Windows IE program keep opening itself up 12 or 15 times, one after the other??
My HP laptop with Vista Home Premium does that once in a while. I have to hit the power button, and shut the darn thing down.
Then, do a manual reboot, and it quits.
Is that what you're seeing happening?

www.spybot.com (http://www.spybot.com)
Adaware (http://www.lavasoft.com/home.php)
Use the free version of both. They will take care of the problem I think.
If not, try Trendmicro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/). It is a free online virus scanner.
Hope that helps.

Mine was doing the same thing around Christmas and then all of a sudden it stopped. Now my crappy McAfee info box comes up blank. I'm going to download the free virus protection, forget this expensive shiat.
I read an article on ZD-Net, that after all this time, what? 2 or 3 years, Vista STILL has some compatibility problems with IE, and other commonly used software programs.
I have run my anti-virus programs, Windows Defender - with anti-spyware assets, and they can find no malware on my computer.
If there is something on your computer try the programe below. If its there it will get it. Just to remember it takes a long time to run.
Trend Micro System Cleaner v.14 Nov 2006 Download - Freeware Files.com - Security/Privacy Category (http://www.freewarefiles.com/Trend-Micro-System-Cleaner-V-Nov_program_23994.html)
I now use this free Internet Security. It has worked pretty good.
Comodo Internet Security 3.8.65951.477 Download - Freeware Files.com - Security/Privacy Category (http://www.freewarefiles.com/Comodo-Internet-Security_program_46193.html)
If you have browser problems try downloading Exployer 8 beta. I had major problems with EX7, and EX8 seems to be more stable.

Spybot does not seem to support MACs. Is anyone out there aware of an alternative that is MAC-compatible? I'm a PC person & love spybot but daughters have MACs.

I have tried downloading a couple of the Comodo products and each time it caused me a lot of grief. They get great reviews by experts and users, but for some reason my computer does not like them. It's a shame too because they offere several widgets I would love to have running on my computer for that extra protection.

I always used a program called Regcleanr. Worked great. Even if you uninstall malware and spyware from your computer alot of times it still leaves registry keys on your computer. This will clean them. You can run ad-aware and spybot and regcleanr will still find things in your registry. It is an older program and may be hard to find, but it works great.

If your going to run any form of registry editor or cleaner I recomend backing up your registry. Even the best of them cause problems sometimes. ERunt is a great free program that does just that.

Note: There are better optimizers out there than NTREGOPT.

Stop visiting porn sites. (sorry, had to say it.)
You have some sort of Spyware - follow the recommended advice and clean it up.
Another tip, do not download toolbars for the web browser and programs that put smilies in your e-mail - these are loaded with this crap. If it is "free" from the internet, usually it comes at a price, and the price is spyware. :yay:
