Worked fine the other day...now it just won't come on at all. Checked the breaker and the plug, door latch works, LOTS of lint in the vent on the back, so I cleaned it out....NOTHING! Any ideas?

Will there be a poll so that we can vote in this election?

Yes, I do!

And may I tell you that the sausage, cheese thingies you dropped off were WONDERFUL. I think I forgot to thank you. OMG, they were great. Now I need to know how to make those! :huggy:

1. When you checked the breaker, did you just look at it or cycle it off then on? They don't always show tripped.
2. Check to make sure the safety switch plunger is in place and not broken off or missing. It is a small plastic/metal thing that is attached to the door and goes in a small hole on the front of the machine to actuated the door safety switch.
3. The door latch works but that does not mean the door safety switch is working. Take a pencil and push the switch and listen for an audible click.
4. Verify power with a meter.

Hope this helps.

I was trying to figure out why this is in the elections section, but for the price to fix it, I vote you get a new one.

It may be something as simple as your switch to turn it on has gone bad. Easy fix, should not cost an arm and a leg. I would get someone to look at it myself. But that is just my opinion.

It it's over five years old, consider a new one. If it's newer than that, call a repair man to look at it. If your hubby has ANYTHING to feel guilty about, get a new washer too.

It's all in the small details...........

I've owned my washer/dryer combo for the last 12 years, with no problems.

Call Lowes or Best Buy, and see what they have to offer in repair services?

Could be as easy as a fusable link within the dryer. Had that happen once. Type in name brand "_______ dryer problem" on a google search and see what happens. Can't tell you how much crap I have fixed just searching for a problem diagnosis on the net. Good luck.

check the wobbler spring oil, if it runs low it can keep it from turning on.

Oh, one last thing to check. Is it really coming on but the drum is not turning? Belt broken? You may or may not hear the motor running.

The fusible link melt, not obvious from the outside. Kept the coil from being energized and getting hot. It is normally easy to find and cheap to replace.

Had something sismilar happen to our dryer, and checked all the breakers and , power and interlocks. Called a repair company and discovered that due to the vibration a cable had become loose inside the control panel. Price was reasonable.Repairman told me he liked easy fixes

Up until this post I thought all this was over a hair dryer.
