May 1, 2009 -- Fourteen Hydroxycut products, marketed as fat burners, low-cost diet aids, and energy enhancers, are being recalled voluntarily by the manufacturer after the FDA received 23 reports of serious liver injuries ranging from jaundice to death.

Never heard of it... I was leaning towards "more effective".

I like the new Lipo-6 BLACK. Good stuff.

The downer was their new Hydroxycut Hardcore "Ignition Stix" tasted awesome, it was like drinking Kool-Aid.

I've never used any of this stuff, so this discussion is way over my head. I just posted the news alert for those of you that do use it.

It's cool that you keep people aware... I was reading about it elsewhere and I thought about the full 210-cap bottle of Hydroxycut Hardcore I took last year and half of the bottle (that I'll never finish) this year...

It's just a risk some take and it's no guarantee, says so on the bottle...

Warneckutz, I was wondering if you could recommend an over the counter supplement that would give me energy, or suppress my appetite.
I've tried the Stackers (6 or more years ago), and they didn't help at all.

Wow... great question...

I've tried a few different items over the last year or so...

I'm not much on the appetite suppressant part because I eat so frequently, but I've tried a few "fat burners" since ephedra dissapeared.

* Nutrex's Lipo-6X (I used this last year prior to competing and I kept with a pretty strict diet. I think it may have suppressed my appetite a little bit as well. It's a time-released capsule so I don't notice an immediate rush of energy)
* VPX Redline Serum (they make pills but the serum, which tastes like some nasty cough medicine, seems to hit IMMEDIATELY)

* BSN's Atro-Phex (can't remember much about it but I was not impressed)

Nutrex makes a Lipo-6 HERS. One of the girls at my gym is using it currently. Next time I see her I'll get some info, she's been using it for 2 weeks or so, hopefully she has some feedback.

Once you start eating better and exercising, energy is a given. :yay:

I know, I was just hoping to get a quick fix, until I do. For some reason, I'm finding it so hard to get motivated to get back to exercising.

I'd be interested in hearing what her feedback is on this.

:bawl:

Those were the days! I remember when MuscleTech had a few products that actually worked (Hydroxycut, Acetebolan III <I think I spelled it right>)...

Perhaps one of the best drinks were by ABB (American Bodybuilding) and it was their Speed Stack drinks and Ripped Force Extreme drinks... those were beyond amazing.

Memories...

Hey War, what are your thoughts on Creatine?

Hey War, what are your thoughts on Creatine?

I think it's a great supplement. Many types of creatine (monohydrate is probably the best known since it's been around the longest, but *my* body responds better to other variations) have shown to be helpful with adding strength and size as well as helping to decrease bodyfat... wow, I've been reading too many supplement ads.

I've heard of the ECA Stack (Ephedra, Caffeine, Aspirin)...

With the ban being reinstated on ephedra, there are companies trying to push their watered-downed version of ephedra (I think it's some sort of by-product called ephedrine or something like that) which does not have anywhere near the same effect as ephedra. Unless he's got a good connection :eyebrow:

I have an entire bottle that's unopened prior to the last ban... I can't use it though since it's a substance banned by all the organizations. :ohwell:

So, I'm going through the latest Muscle & Fitness (July 2009), and I'm getting a laugh at all the Hydroxycut ads in the magazine... I know these things are usually laid out a few months in advance so I'm curious if all the Hydroxycut ads will be gone for the August 2009 edition. Of course, MuscleTech is still hammering the magazine with ads for all of their other products.
