We are looking for a good & reliable used car for our daughter. Of course she is 16, so she would like for it to be "cute" also. If anyone has or knows of someone with a good car to sell, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

I know you said used but take a look at this article and you maybe able to make out if you can find a $300 car to trade in and this bill passes.

What ever you get her, make sure it's manual and can only seat 2 people. My kids will learn how to drive stick, you never know when you'll need it.

You're suggesting she get a 2 seater car for a 16 year old? Wouldn't that be...well, small? If you think they won't pile people in a 2 seater, you're wrong...we did

Shaa! Who needs a backseat for that? A teenager can get lucky in the front seat of a Chevette just as easily as the backseat of a minivan. Just not as comfortably.

A high quality backseat can be quite enticing

best kind of car would probably be like a Honda Civic. they can be cute, cheap, good gas mileage...a kid can't ask for much more. could get a 4 seater with only 2 doors. they have good track records and last awhile, so you could get a late 90s or early 00s model and probably be ok for a few years of crazy teenage driving. don't know where you can find one, but that's an idea.

Keep a blanket or 2 in the trunk, and the world becomes your backseat.

Chevy's HHR is annoying to drive as well. Horrible blind spots.

I have a co-worker that desperately wanted a PT Cruiser. Finally got one and traded it in less than 1 yr of owning it.

This is exceptional advice. But I think my 17 yr old son can text with his nose, too.

Oh, I dont know, they could be had with the 2.4 turbo, and that makes it sprightly, anyway. Not a bad choice ofr a first ride. Visbilty? Eh, good to learn how to look around, and packs more beef than an accord.

Does feel much more enclosed than a Neon (you know they share the underlying platform? thanks to the high sills) I agree, though.
