this beautiful bird has been coming to our pond for the past two weeks looking for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I'm thinking a great blue heron, possibly a young one.

I think you're right. hubby looked it up on internet which said the mature birds have a couple of feathers that stick up off the back of its head. it's a beautiful creature that's for sure. he looks prehistoric. when he flies over the cats run and the fish dive.

he/she has been back every day. so far I don't think he's caught any of our fish. The pond is a pool being converted to a pond so the water is too deep.
