Taking the kiddo's to the Wolf Lodge this weekend. I've got activities down, just need some ideas for where to get our meals in the area. It's been YEARS since I've been to Williamsburg - so what places are good to eat the that kids would like? (Kids are 10 and 8)

I went a few years ago and it seemed like there was a pancake house on every corner, at least kids usually love pancakes :lmao:

I completely adore your 10 year old. Can I keep him?

I hated williamsburg when growing up.
Nothing I hated more than to hear we were going there, boring for a kid.

unless by williamsburg you mean, Bush Gardens, Water country, etc...

The buffet at GWL is awesome, and the price is good. No reason to leave!

My oldest is a history freak and book worm. He's excited as all get out. One day he's going to be your boss so be nice to me.

Thanks! I'll have to give it a go.

Think we're trying the Captain Georges also - anyone hear any bad about that place?

You're not kidding. We were there last week. It was easy to pass by at least three pancake/waffle houses every mile.

Astronomical Pancake House. Let the kids order the pancakes and watch their faces.
Also the Black Angus Grill was very good. They were a few kids there. Nice place to go if your kids can behave. They had a sign out for 20 meals under $15.

Great Wolf is fun and we had a microwave/small fridge in our room. I suggest breakfast and snacks (even lunch) in your room and dinner out. Capt. George's is fantastic! Something for everyone. Never had a bad meal there. Great Wolf is so expensive for food & drinks. They have a resturant there but i.m.o. it's geared towards the kids - not the adults. Food was blaahhh but my kids liked it. (Pizza, breakfast stuff etc....) There is a bar there and one by the pool! Enjoy!

I do not recommend the Comfort Inn on Richmond Rd. in Williamsburg. Poor service on getting a credit for being charged a night we weren't in town. Our credit card company took care of us but the manager was conveneintly unavailable (several times) when we called to say the extra charge was incorrect and a staff person hung up on us because she didn't want to pass a message on or handle the problem. No yelling on our part...just trying to rectify the situation.

When we arrived the clerk checking us in said to the manager standing by that we were the couple who were a "no show" the night before. I had all of my paperwork in hand and showed them we didn't book a room the night before. When we checked out - I signed off on the one night stay and we left. The room they provided us was "smoke free" but reeked of smoke. The bed wasn't comfortable either if that matters to anyone paying $97 a night.

I'm writing to their corporate offices too. They lost our business and the group of friends who we travel with.

They have that big seafood buffet that's pretty famous. Good atmosphere.

I'm not a buffet guy though.
