I have a few questions about a custom paint job i want and i was hoping yall would be able to help me out.
I want one of those paint jobs where it starts out as one color, and as it reaches the bottom of the truck it fades out to another (like ive seen the top half being light blue, and then it changes to a darker blue by the bottom on some trucks).... Anyone know what that is called??
Also i didnt know where around here they do those kinds of paint jobs? or if anyone knew of a price range? I want to get this done on a chevy s10.
Any info would be great
thanks

In graphics design it's called gradient. Are you looking to do the whole truck or just a portion?

I would like to do the whole truck because the truck is currently green and i want to do it like a magenta, fading out into a orange or something. Im so girly haha!

You do realize that it will cost more because you want to change the color of the truck. Now door jams and such have to be done to match..

You can fade it to a lighter green or even a blue or black. The best person to ask would be the painter for suggestions.

I think she is talking about fading from one color to another...
Gary Best is probably the best around for stuff like this.
Maybe LusbyMom's hubby could do a paint fade - wouldn't hurt to shoot her a PM and ask to see if he can do it. Gumbo did the paint drip on his boat and it looked pretty good, he would be another one to PM and ask.

gary best kustoms does good work - i've seen some of his vehicles at car shows. they take a LONG time, and are quite expensive. but you pay for what you get.
also, check out georges auto body off of peggs road, the painter there does great work as well.
i thought about doing the "fade" paint on my s10, decided against it. if you were to get a scratch, you're pretty much repainting. i did the regular two tone black/pewter on my s10.
although i'm looking into another paint job..
