So R has gone to work as their newest chef and absolutlely loves it...We've gotten a lot of PM's and email asking if he is cooking anywhere and I see that Vincenzo has a banner ad so I felt safe posting...:buddies:
He says the fresh seafood they have brought in is really exceptional.

Mediterranean/Italian actually. Take the road to Anne Marie Gardens and go a bit further. Right on the water across from the townhouses. Really good wine selections, upscale dining, a bit pricey but worth it.
Glad to hear, Remax.

Thanks:love:. He's starting to do a few of his own dishes as specials and it seems like Vincenzo is just a great guy, down to earth and easy to get along with, they have A LOT in common...
As far as price, they do a few of their dishes in 1/2 portions so it's not bad at all $7-$8.

Been a while since I've been there, didn't know about the 1/2 dishes. Sounds good. I'll have to plan a visit soon.

As long as he doesn't mess with the osso bucco, we'll be fine. Otherwise..grrrr. I already love Vincenzos and don't want anyone messing with the kitchen too much.

Where did the regular ravioli with the marinara sauce go? Nothing on the new menu that really appeals to me now.

I have been to Vincenzo's numerous time and have never had a mediocre or bad meal! A long time ago had the crab ravioli with sage butter sauce - excellent, the crab gnocchi, numerous specials, etc. Great location - quiet and overlooking the water - even though it is a little more of a trek than many others. Vincenzo himself is very nice, personable and seems to care. Always one of the top restaurants on my list!
As to the comment about being expensive. You get what you pay for with this restaurant in my opinion!

My husband and I went there on late evening after I got off work. It was almost 9pm and they close at 9. They were very welcoming and attentive. They took the time to tell us the specials and offered the wine list. The food was awesome and the service was great. The view over the river was very nice and relaxing too. Nice, quiet and different place to get away for a romantic dinner. I'm a local from St. Mary's and don't really like too many "tourisy" restaurants on the island but this one was unique. THANK YOU!

I heard from locals the V's was sort of --- ok. That jibed with our experience of the place a couple of years ago.
That may have been from a valley in their history though. Since I am hearing here that there is a new chef that is improving things, perhaps FF and I will re-visit!
