Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) proclaimed that those attending health care town hall meetings are "carrying swastikas."Interviewer: Do you think there's legitimate grassroot opposition going on here? Pelosi: "I think they're Astroturf... You be the judge. "They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."
If one were to take her at her word, surely the Nutroots (Netroots) would have been all over this story and can corroborate her assertion, right?

Wrong...

I ventured into the fever swamp to find confirmation of the Speaker's allegations. I went to the largest community sites searching for "Swastika." Surely that would turn up confirmation of the Speaker's claim.

The speaker and forum trolls here have tried to spin the opposition to their socialist policies by labeling unrest as astroturf funded by insurance companies and Republican activists.

In the meanwhile, they go to great lengths to shut up the opposition or label them in a unsavory manner.

Not to mention that well dressed people do not come to town hall meetings.

It's usually just homeless people trying to get warm :sarcasm:

They been running their propaganda commercials claiming all the disruptions at the town meetings have been staged and done by the "mobs." Gotta love them Dems. If the truth doesn't benefit you, manufacture a lie.

Unfortunately, there is a small problem despite pelousy lying her azz off.

This moron has lost his mind. :livid:

SOUTH BEND – Tony Zirkle, Republican candidate for 2nd District congressman, said he is willing to talk to any group that invites him, and that’s why he addressed a weekend gathering in Chicago of the American National Socialist Workers Party.

The occasion was a celebration of the 119th anniversary of the birth of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

At a news conference Monday afternoon, Zirkle said he agreed to address the group and talk about his experience as state's attorney. He also said he took the opportunity to preach the gospel and handed out commentaries on the life of Jesus.

Hey jackass, you are NOT going to be able to reach people like this and I can not see the reason why you would even try. Ok, I understand you are trying to be a good Christian, but still some people just cant be reached. They are celebrating Hitler's birthday and YOU are standing there!!! Hello!?! Its like trying to reach out to the NBPP. Since your busy screwing it up for everyone else and giving tons of ammo away, might as well go find a Klan rally with effigy's of hanging black folks too.

Epic failure in judgment.

"Earlier this week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested that the protests at these events were illegitimate, in part because the protesters were carrying signs with "swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care." She was ridiculed by right-wing media for making an unsubstantiated charge in an effort to defame these grassroots demonstrators."

Actually, the woman holding up the sign has a slash through the symbol saying she's AGAINST fascism. She's a GOOD example for the opponents. Sorry, Nono. You've been OWNED once again.

Pelosi makes it sound like there were folks proudly holding the swastika high, instead, its actually someone saying no to Naziism. Cant read the bill, cant read the signs, wth is she doing with her time?

"They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."

A woman protesting Democratic plans for health care reform was captured holding up a sign of a Swastika, with the president's name below it, encircled and crossed out by a red line. The implication is that Obama is a Nazi -- though the culprit, in this case, added a question mark next to his name, as some sort of caveat.Anti-Obama Protester Compares President To Nazi In Swastika Sign (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/06/anti-obama-protester-comp_n_252815.html)

It's funny you didn't hear a whole bunch from the left about the war protests and the signs they made for Bush. They didn't moan and groan about that one.

You know, that soiunds like a video that might actuallt have a fact or two. Sadly, I saw not one fact supporting the claim about lobbyists pretending to be grassroots. Fox has indeed reported the efforts, but not alot of straight covereage from the rest of the media. I keep hearing about the fact that right wing folks arfe setting these protests up, but never any evidence of such. Seen anything conclusive?
