Has there ever been a public issue that has worked better and well served more people that has been decided, at the highest levels, the White House, to destroy it?
Social Security was begun with the most benign of intentions, just a few government bucks for old folks. It didn't replace anything.
Medicare, same thing.
Food stamps and other welfare programs were begun to help poor people but not by getting rid of private sector jobs or take over grocery stores.
Obama is proposing the federal government take over health care and direct it. They are proposing helping the poor by taking over the whole thing.
Socialism.
