I bought some a couple of years ago at L.C. Smith in Alexandria and was very surprised at how well their bricks matched the ones on my house (built in '74).

thats when this colonial home was built in the early 70's. I have found some here on the property from the early farm home taken down. I have looked over the course of 3 yrs on and off and picked up a few. However the new ones just don't keep the era of the home. I have my sister checking around her area in Rocky Mount, Ferrum. Alot of older brick homes there. Just figured I would ask. never hurts, might turn out as someone might have a few piled up waiting to get rid of.

There are a number of old bricks working here. I doubt they will be of use to you though.

For a walkway, you need bricks that are made for that use. Bricks for walls can be somewhat porous and will over time crumble away if laid on the ground and where water can soak into them.

What's funny is I hardly ever look at the Pennysaver anymore, just happened to yesterday and remembered this thread as soon as I saw it.
