So, about 8:30 last night I went into the basement (theater) to watch a movie. I hear drip.... drip.... drip.... Look up, huge water stain dripping water from the ceiling onto the carpet. Rush upstairs to the kitchen, find the hose for the ice maker has sprung a pizzing leak, floor is soaked. Back downstairs to turn off the water valve for the ice maker. It won't turn. Back out to the garage to get a wrench, back to the basement. Turn the valve, the handle breaks off. Great. At least it's not leaking. Back to the garage to get a pair of vice grips, back to the kitchen. I use the vice grips to pinch off the water line. Clean up the water. Back to the basement with a stack of towels. Sop up the floor as best I could, break out the rug shampoo machine, use that to suck up the water out of the carpet. Realize it's a futile task as the ceiling is still dripping like crazy. Pile the towels up to catch the drips. Break out the dehumidifier, turn it on, point the warm air output towards the wet spot. Well, that's as much as I can do for the moment. Phone rings, friend wants to know how to change a light switch. Spend and hour on the phone with him. 10pm.
I didn't really want to watch a movie last night anyway....
Check it all out this morning. Clamp on the fridge is still holding, but the wood laminate floor has warped in a few places. No more drips from the ceiling in the basement, so I pick up the wet towels and throw them outside. Use the shampoo machine to suck up any water from the carpet. Huge stain on the ceiling now. 25 year old acoustic tiles, no way to match the color or pattern. Sighed, and left for work. Noticed the grass was WAY too tall.....

when i bought my house the idiots took the fridge- thats fine- but the idiots taped off the water house to the ice maker- we didnt know that.... well from the time it sat there and then turning the water back on not knowing they just taped it up, it warped everything, to where the tiles they put down wrong cracked, the wood floors warped, caused horrible horrible mold everywhere! since it had been like that for months! ruined the downstairs etc etc. well thankfully home owners covered it. we got 15 grand. we were able to do all the work ourselves and replace ALL the walls upstairs and down, get new countertops, appliances, DuraCeramic tiles, new hardwood floors thru out the house, everything, brand new! so it worked out for us :yay: i hope things work out! i know it sucks!

 Kinda. Got that leak and another toilet fixed. Got a few things done around here that needed attention. Not sure what to do about the stained ceiling yet. Got an estimate for the truck repair, $600.
And since the downstairs is in chaos, it will be a few days before I get it all back together and usable again, so no movies!
Just kinda chillin' at the moment.
Thanx for asking!
