I've used the Dr. Scholl's powder that you put in the shoes before wearing each time and it's great. I use it in gym shoes, and also in shoes that don't require socks since feet tend to sweat more in those. It's good stuff. It's in a yellow type bottle in near the pharmacy stuff @ Wal-Mart.

I will be making a trip to Wal-Mart tomorrow, girl, the odor burns my eyes. :faint:

Dr. Oz says to soak them in tea. I'm not supposed to respond to you, but that's what he said. Do it for a few weeks. Supposed to do something to soak out the icky stinky stuff.

another thing to try is bathing feet in a bowl of water with 2 drops of sage essential oil, everyday for a week. if there is a fungal problem you can add 2 drops of tea tree oil to the water.
Posting about Dr. Oz's tea soaking recommendation - that might be doable. :yay: Oprah.com Community: Dr. Oz's remedy for stinky feet ... (http://www.oprah.com/community/message/75933)
Plus using foot powder. Couldn't hurt to do everything I can! :yay:

Nothing works with REALLY bad teenage boy shoes. When I was a growing boy, varsity track/cross-country and cut grass as a job, my mother tried everything to de-funkify my shoes. Insoles, powders, sprays, "funky shoe deodorizer balls". None of it worked. There were times that you could smell my running shoes upon entering the house (and the shoes were in my closet behind a closed closet and bedroom door). I ended up having to keep my sneakers outside when they were especially fragrant.

Febreeze the sneakers inside and out and let them dry completely. Get the Dr. Scholl's Odor inserts with charcoal.

It's not just a boy thing. When I was a teenager, I had some particularly rank feet. Must have just been a teenage hormone thing.
There is no cure. At least, not one that a teenager will follow through and keep up with. They're too lazy for that. I speak from experience. I'd rather have stinky feet and laugh about everyone's misfortune of not being able to appreciate the odor than powder my shoes every time I put them on.
Luckily I grew out of it. I still don't powder my shoes though. I just run them through the washer when they get bad. I have multiple pairs of washable shoes for this very reason. Chucks do well in the wash.

It could be worse, I could discuss abandoned socks and not the ones left in my vehicle after practice to fester in the heat.

Make him scrub those puppies with scrub brush and hot soapy water and dry well. Make sure it's not a foot fungus.

Now, how did I miss this?
Kitty litter... well... I have never heard of such a thing! I'd be afraid the cats would think it was okay to use said shoe as their cat box.
Kom,
I bought a scrub brush at the store over the weekend just for that purpose.

Put shoes in a big Zip lock bag then into the deep freeze. This works by killing the bactera in the shoes.
Plenty of foot powder inside shoes and socks 3 times daily. Turn socks inside out to apply powder before wearing.
Repete as necessary.
