So I'm going to Luray this afternoon for the weekend by myself. Other than the caverns, does anyone have any ideas about local spots to go to? I want to take alot of scenic pics. I'm going to hit a few of the local wineries while I'm there. :yahoo:

Yeah that's on the agenda. I have limited time this weekend which sucks but all I could afford was a weekend. I'm leaving this afternoon and will leave after lunch on Sunday.

Maybe you will find a rugged, mountain of a man that will knock your socks off :buddies:

If you go towards Front Royal VA there is a few places. The Low Water Bridge which I think is in Bentonville. Skyline Caverns. Then the Shenandoah State park, you can drive up to the top of the mountain and I think there were a couple overlooks.

Oh and the Skyline drive entrance is near there to.

Phillip Carter Winery aka Stillhouse Winery. My parents live in Hume, and my uncle owns Stillhouse Farm - go visit them. Also if you go to wineries - they charge for wine tasting - from $5.00 per person to $50 per person depending. We went to Phillip Carter last week and it was nice - we bought the cheapest bottle they had $30.00 for a 1/2 bottle.

You should try to get back that way in the fall when it's cooler and the leaves are turning. You will have good views and good pics for sure!:howdy:

I doubt I'll be able to. That's exactly what the rental office told me when I booked the cabin.

I always enjoy getting away for a day or two all by myself, I can unwind and regroup! The scenery in Luray is fabulous, albeit better in the fall, but nonetheless a good place to go and unwind.

Sorry, not there anymore and hasnt been for about 3 years. Hubby and I go to Luray every year to go tubing.
