I am in desperate need of someone to cut my grass. Our tractor is down and we have not had time to get it looked at. Thanks in advance. Please PM me if available or if you know someone. Thanks

Toppic will mow your lawn

Mow the lawn or cut the grass?? There is a distinct difference. :roflmao:

Either way he would be down with both.

:gossip: must cringe whenever he drives by my place with his landscaping trailer in tow. I have 4 riding mowers of various ages and currently, NONE of them are working. With the heat and rain, I haven't had a chance to push-mow my yard in weeks. Got the front 3/4 done last week but still have to finish.

Yes we do.:killingme, I was by maybe 3 times this past weekend, if you dont hurry and finish the other 1/4 of the front yard you might not be able to find the push mower. :lmao: We cut 4 yards yesterday evening, all the rain has really started the grass growing again, like April, May. With this possible hurricane/tropical storm coming looks like this Saturday could be a repeat of last Saturday's rain or worse with possible wind you wont have to worry about finding someone to cut those many trees down, some may come down on there own.:buddies:

:gossip: Have you seen the new trailer go by.

No. Will have to check it out.

Worst part is I am slammed with stuff going on and don't know when I will get back to it. Ask him what he'd charge to cut it for me. Just the front, side and flat part out back, not the hill out back. Also ask what he'd charge to cut the hill in front of the stormwater pond.

Saw the trailer tonight. Nice. Nobody was home when I knocked on the front door.
We are having Jeff's Tree Service come by tomorrow to give us a quote. 9:00 am. We will ask about a "group rate". I have 9 trees to come down.

About the grass...

It took 4 lawnmowers and 3 nights over 3 weeks, but I finally got it cut. I started with an old JD rear engine rider that my father-in-law put a cobbled together motor on last spring (loaned it to a buddy last summer and he ran it out of oil, I got it back and got it running again, but the motor blew in the middle of the front yard). Then I switched to a 1994 Craftsman rider. When I went to start it after stopping to move a turtle (turned out to be the shell of a dead one) the gear on the starter stripped, so it is out of commission. So I switched to a push mower. $99.00 4HP Briggs WalMart special my buddy gave me (he ran it out of oil too). I was 99% done with the first cut of the front yard when the motor started knocking. Shut it off. Took it to the driveway. Oil was coming out the muffler. Not a good sign. Changed the oil and restarted it. 5, maybe 10 seconds tops and BANG! That motor blew too. Switched to my TroyBilt self propelled push mower. 6HP Briggs. Haven't started it since last fall. I did run it out of gas in the fall before I parked it under the barn. Checked the oil, put some gas in it and it started on the FIRST pull. Finished the first cut, dropped the deck 2 notches and cut the front again.

Boy is able to start the TroyBilt mower, but the resistance of the self propel mechanism makes it too hard for him to push, so I am going to pull the motor and put it on the mower deck of the $99.00 special. Time for him to get some on-the-job-training for his future traditional teenage boy job of Landscape Maint. Engineer.
