When I try to save a picture from my yahoo (or any other web based email), FF wants to save it as a "FireFox" document. The drop down offers no other choices.

The only way I can save as a .jpg )or other format) is by using IE. Anyone know how I can tweak FF to save as the original format the document was sent in?

I don't know what to tell you If you don't have the options to tell firefox what to do with individual files.

1. Firefox 3.0 or above (what I use)
2. Firefox in safe mode
3. One or more Firewalls or Virus protection blocking application

Good Luck

I have FF 3.0.14 (I had upgraded but lost my Norton password program, so I downloaded the previous version again until they rid of it completely). With that said, all pages, pics, docs, etc download to a central FF download box. For security reasons. You should just be able to open your "Downloads" folder and find everything.

Should but my Download folder stays empty, I direct all downloads (programs) to My Documents. The Applications allows me to direct FF what to do with individual types of files.

My bad. I do the same - direct where I want a file, etc, to go - however it goes through a centralized secured download location first.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
