what type do all of you doggie peeps have. I am looking for one for my dog who is a large breed dog who down the line might end up with hip problems. Does anyone have any recommendations or websites I can go and look at?

We just use old blankets. The dogs like to 'nest' in them (fluff em up, put em in a pile, and make a nest) and they are way easier to wash and dry. Of course, when they get playful and start dragging the blankets all over the house it can be a pain, but it's fun too.

Old thick blankets or comforters for my pups. Much easier to wash and they like to "nest" too.

If you're worried about hip issues, ask your vet what they recommend :yay:

Sure thing. I figure since it's a big dog and you're worried about hip problems I doubt a blanket, even a really plush blanket, would be comfy and/or supportive for him/her.

LL Bean has a great selection and they last! We went through several in a few month period, then payed a little more for a bed from LL Bean and it has lasted 6 years. The insert provides good support and the cover is washable.

pdgn I saw a few there i liked. I might just end up buying one for the queen (bruno) to get her used to sleeping on it so when I go away she can go stay with my stepdad (if he is willing to drive her back and forth everyday with him (or he can stay here) and she have her own bed as he won't let her sleep with him he wants no animals in the bed and hes mad that I let her sleep with me.

I'd suggest going with a crib mattress. They're great for large breeds, especially since it provides some support for the hips. I'd suggest covering it with a comforter that you can wash.
