Other than Catt, how many of you brush your dog's teeth on a regular basis?

I've never brushed my dog's teeth. Little guy usually has a tiny amount of tartar/plaque as seen by his vet during his yearly. The big guy is always pretty clean.

Once a week. They are both older now, and never had problems... Matter of fact the only dental problem I have ever had with a dog was a broken tooth. Brushing is as important for them as it is for us, better safe than sorry and all that!

We on the planet Dogma never brush our dogs' teeth. :drama:

I give them marrow bones (raw) a couple of times a week. I do have a pick and I remove the tartar that way if necessary. Honestly though, the marrow bones do a really nice job of keeping their teeth clean. :yay:

Every once in a while. I have a scaler and use that when needed. Scooter had his teeth cleaned last year. I wasn't that impressed with the results. :ohwell:

I'm afraid to give my dogs bones of any type. One of the two is an exceptionally hard chewer and I fear bone splinters.

Can't be any harder than mine...marrow bones..not cooked are an okay choice. I watch mine and when they get all the meat off and marrow out, I toss them if the edges start to look ragged.

My 4 dogs are addicted to having their teeth brushed!! TWO TIMES A DAY... when I brush mine. All 4 dogs pile into the bathroom - sit and wait to have thiers brushed. :killingme:yahoo: I feel guilty if Im running late and have to cancel the brushing party in the morning.... my one gives me the sad eyes as he is licking his lips. They each have their own toothbrushes and special toothpaste! (oh... and you know when you are having a bad day when you almost grab either or... the dogs toothbrush or their toothpaste!!)

oh and yes I do use a pick on 3 of my dogs also... they just lay there and let me pick away. They other one will "kill ya" if you touch him with it!!

Mothers of 2 legged kids have asked if I could train their kids to brush two times a day like my dogs!!

Yeah raw bones don't splinter. Nicks of Calvert has them cheap cheap, big old beef bones. Yum!

YOU are a bad, bad doggy mom. YOU have 5 dogs. I'm really sick of hearing you choose favorites and leaving my favorite out of the pack. :drama: So what if she is only 5 pounds. She deserves to be spoiled rotten too. You wait until I have to doggy sit again. Those spoiled creatures are gonna know what it's like to get left out! I'm giving all the treats and attention to MY favorite. :killingme

Where do you get the marrow bones from? I don't brush his teeth (bad mommy) and his breath smells like he ate a bowl of dead kittens for breakfast.

How do we? LOL. Most animals have dental issues in the wild as they grow older, but there aren't any baboon DDS's running around with cute little Mandarin hygienists to report it.
