Spammers aren't real bright because most of them don't even try to disguise themselves as legitimate.

Nah - I do an IP check on everyone. If they're coming from a foreign country or some unsecured spammer ISP, I don't approve them. Occasionally one slips by me, but not very often. Especially considering that I disapprove a good 30 of them each day, and there's at least another 30 or 40 that don't even pass the email confirmation process.
