I went to Jiffy Lube last time and I could not believe that the cost was $42.99. Is there a cheaper place that would do a good job for less in St mary's? TIA

What kind of car do you drive? I'm sure that price is for a 4 banger that just uses conventional motor oil.

Noticed that Walmart shows their price for oil & filter change as $30.

When engines weren't smashed into a car like they are now I changed my own, but you could also simply throw the filter and stuff in the trash.
Now you have to collect all the waste and put the car up to get to the filter and stuff - to time consuming. Cheaper (when you consider your time) to just let someone else deal with the cleanup.

Get an empty 5 gallon drywall mud bucket from a construction site and you're good to go. The lid seals great and you drive to the nearest transfer station, dump your oil & filter and go on your way. You can get a case of oil for $15.00 (2 oil changes) and filters are $5.00-6.00. easy peasy.

Precision tune has an oil change special for $15 on their sign today.

IF you are active or retired Military, $2.50 plus materials (you buy oil & filter) at the base auto hobby shop which includes, auto lift, tools, rags, and oil disposal!!!

Just changed the oil in the Subaru for the first time. The drain plug is about a foot back from the bumper and the filter is right next to it. Super easy :yay:

Had a '78 CJ7 Jeep with a straight 6.
Took a drywall bucket and set it right under the engine, changed the oil and then realized I had laid the bucket on it's side to get it under the car.
