Qualifying airs at 11pm on ESPN Classic:boo::bs:

I'm gonna say it again. If Disney can't fit NASCAR and NHRA coverage anywhere in their college football orgy, they need to give broadcast rights to someone who can cover the sport. I guarantee you SPEED or TNT or Versus could do a much better job than they are.

NHRA sold its soul to get onto ESPN with their latest contract and this is what they got. I've been a fan of drag racing for as long as I can remember, but the NHRA as a whole needs to go away for a while. The professional ranks have gotten down right unwatchable, and will be even worse next year with more teams folding up due to rising costs. It's very sad to see what it has become.

I was at Dinwiddie Sunday. There were some AMAZING races - lots of records broken.

The crowd was extremely thin though...and from what I heard NHRA has stripped VMP of all of sanctioning rights. VMP has ADRL banners posted all over the facility last week...kinda like a "take that" to NHRA.

I'll miss the close proximity of Dinwiddie, but I'm looking forward to checking out the new track at Charlotte.

FYI - Bernstein has secured Copart as his sponsor for next year; not sure if you guys knew that. It's gonna be weird not seeing the Budweiser TF car anymore. :ohwell:

:yeahthat: The Countdown is :bs:. Robert Hight don't deserve to win the championship, especially after John Force cheated the system and tanked his run to get him in.

Silly boy. Don't you know Ashley's gonna win it? She's only like 13 points behind him.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on.

Its pretty simple to figure it out, no one can afford it.

NHRA needs to go away, and restart where drag racing belongs - at the affordable grass roots level. Everyone that is in 'professional' drag racing is spending their own money to be there, its a joke. They tried to compete with NASCAR and they lost, miserablely. At the very least, they need to cut down the number of events, limit the multi-car teams, and open up the competition to new vendors of the products. NHRA has allowed any company that has paid for the rights as an "official provider of..." to monopolize the market and drive up costs to such ridiculous heights that no one can afford it.

I hope Ashley does win it. But Ron Capps deserves it more than anyone. The countdown robbed him just like it robbed Tim Wilkerson last year.

Countdown = BS.

There were only 15 TF cars there this weekend. Didn't even have enough to complete the field.
