bruno has this cut on her paw (top part) we have no clue how she got it (we guess she might have cut it on some glass that was behind the workshop at my moms but we aren't sure) she won't let either of us touch it and the lady who answers the phones at the vets wants us to clean her paw off (well how do you do that to a 90lb dog who wont let you near her foot or even look at it without trying to bite your face off?

muzzle her, or take her to the vet and have them sedate her to clean the wound and look at it. It's probably infected and very sore.

Grab the top of her leg and not near the injury to put it in a solution. Or if their is two of you have someone hold her, but not to where it scares her.

Be da master! lol!

:killingme Wrap her in a blanket with the one paw exposed. Give lots of love and attention to keep her mind off of what your doing, and soak the sore paw.

Muzzle her (you can improvise here w/ a towel and a belt, just make sure she can still breath). Get someone to help you, and one person cradles her head against their chest while the other does the paw.

Just do what needs to be done, she doesn't have to like it. Worst comes to worst just run a few inches of water into the tub and make her stand in it for a while. Better than nothing.

you can also try her favorite treats while someone gets her paw in the water. Good Luck

Poor dog. Retards shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

Who is the master - you or the dog??? You are the one who controls the dog not the dog controlling you. If you care enough about the dog then grab the damn foot and soak it in some warm soapy water, wrap it up in gauze and keep it clean and dry until it heals. How hard it that??? The size of the dog is not important - but keeping the foot clean is. Stupid people shouldnt have animals or kids.

Can your stepdad help you? Someone needs to hold Bruno like they do at the vets. Kneel down and put one arm under her head and lock your arm around her head/neck (kinda like a headlock). Use the other arm to put under her belly and hold her that way. Know what I mean? If your stepdad can do that (I'm assuming he's the strongest person), someone else should be able to clean the cut.

thanks cowgirl I watched the vet do that yesterday. He actually had to flip her from her laying down to putting her on her side and she was shaking like a leaf when went to put her in the sit position then he couldn't get her to lay etc so he put her in all the positions. I never seen that happen. they showed me how to flip but I don't see me being able to do that to her.

I'm sure you can do it. You just have to want to do it an not be scared. You're not going to hurt her. This is why people should practice things when their dogs are puppies. Clipping their nails, making them lay down, not letting them get away with stuff, etc.

I clipped and painted Abbey's toenails the other day. She loved it.

Of course, I need to find polish that will stand up to her mole digging.
