We're getting ready to tile our kitchen walls and discussing how to apply the tiles. I recently helped a buddy of mine do his kitchen and he has done two more since and in each case used Liquid Nails to apply the tiles. It was fast, easy and worked well. Now that I'm getting ready to do my kitchen I'm wondering if there is any reason NOT to use Liquid Nails over the normal mastic or thin set? I know they make a gallon size liquid nails specifically for tile, but that is spread just like mastic or thin set. The stuff I'm talking about is from a tube put on with an applicator gun.

That's exactly what I used when I tiled my back splash and bar area in my kitchen. Works great, have had NO problems and it's been 5 years or more. Easy, quick and it doesn't take a whole lot of it.
