Okay, let's say you have to be on a committee for something or do a write-up for a paper, or something along those lines, that directly affects your children. How do you stay objective?

doing what is best for your child, most of the time will also be whats best for the other children in your community.

When it comes to your kids you can't be objective. But who says that's a bad thing?

What?, bring it down to pushing one person under the train to save the crowd? I've observed and thought long and hard. Ultimately we most do the best we can and that's all you can ask of anyone..

Same thing, as coaching a team with you child on it, I found I was harder on my child and expected more out of him than the other kids, but I dont think this was a bad thing. Its hard to be objective.
