I'm looking for Japanese tutor in the California, MD area. I'm currently taking a Japanese class through UMUC and I need some one on one help now and over the winter break. I've been poking around the classifieds for a few months with no luck. I thought I'd ask outright if anyone knew of someone.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know anyone, but I'll ask around. My SIL is japanese, and I only learned enough to speak a few sentances, lol.

Thanks I'm actually spending some time in Japan in March. While I'm doing well in the writing assignments, I'm having a heck of a time conversationally. I don't think the locals will slow down their speech while I pour over my notebooks. lol
I actually said "I eat my friends" in a conversation with the Sensei today.

When I was learning I got the CD's from the SOMD library. When my SIL and her mother came to visit they said I had the accent down. It was a lot of fun to learn.
My brother also speaks it fluently.

Hey, I'm taking Japanese at Michigan State University and I would be happy to practice with you. What level are you in at the moment?
I got a 4.0 this past semester and I aced both of the oral tests so I feel pretty good about my speaking.
send me an email if you are interested.
