I so wish there was a country dance place in the county. I think Brewski's would be a great spot for a country dance place.

Linda at Friends of Country Dance (friendsofcountrydance.com Country Western dancing and Swing dancing (http://www.friendsofcountrydance.com/id15.html)) may be able to help you. She teaches at at the Country Night at the American Legion in Chesapeake Beach once a month, among other places, and may also know someone else who teach in our area.
The group at the Blessing of the Fleet is the Boot Scooters of Southern Maryland (Boot Scooters of Southern Maryland (http://www.bootscootersofsomd.com/)), but I don't think anyone in our group wants to teach outside of the group. However, if anyone is interested in learning how to line dance, we offer Free Line dance lessons every Wednesday night from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm as indicated on the Southern Maryland Community Calendar on this website. We meet at Hotel Charles located at 15100 Burnt Store Rd in Hughesville, MD (near the corner of Routes 231 and Leonardtown Road). The lessons are followed by the regular weekly practice session for team member.

Great. If dance is simulated mating, and it is, the bunny hop is simulated gang bang.
Go big or stay on the porch.

I think MWR holds dancing lessons (Latin ones). And I know there is an instructor that goes to Maximum once a month to teach. I haven't taken any of the classes, but I've heard great things about him! I'd call the gym to see if they'll give you his information.

I'd go dance at a country bar. Especially if they did line dance lessons before the open dancing. :yay:

Why is there no country bar here?
Why is there no nuclear waste dump?
Why is there no leper colony?
Why is there no open pit to hell?
It is one thing to muddle through, as a white man, some decent rock tunes and fumble about in some semblance of a vaguely repetitive mating ritual/convulsion/jumble of moving parts. It's not all that bad to be half bombed and shake my disjointed and uncoordinated ass to the thumping beats of soul and motown. Even I look good to Brick House and Play that funky music. It's even OK to stand there at weddings and flail around and mutter to the thing that is the Macaroni. It's all in good fun.
However, to be in a country bar for hours on end, to listen to twanging guitars, fiddles and yet one more line about beating the dog, cheating on the truck and driving the old lady into a ditch, or one more ode to the back 40, all to that incessant jalopy, uber honky beat that all but commands you to put your hands on your hips, slide your head back and forth like it's a drawer on top of the tool cabinet and strut about like a drunken chicken, well, I am sorry.
Have you no sense of decency?

no, it`s called two steppin advanced. not hanky panky. Just don`t wax the soles of yr boots too much, quite slippery. Very nice country bars, & civil, not rednecky, quite nice & classy. where? I know, not there. sorry. Have a nice day y`all. & they make provisions 4 the line dancers.
Yeah, RoseRed... the location is privy so don't ask.

U can ask it`s no secret. Md is south of the Mason Dixon line sure, but u have to go a lot farther south, a lot farther. & no tear in yr beer hillbilly crap either. Some of the best country & southern rock bands have been discovered in these places.
Here's one for you.

Hotel Charles is considering having a country night once or twice per month (on a Friday night). If they go forward with that idea (may depend on getting a DJ) they would likely charge a $5 cover to pay for a DJ. They are not talking about have a real country band there, yet.
