2 is a really easy age. I have a 2 year old daughter and she loves everything. She plays with babies, Little Einsteins, coloring books, Little People and just about everything else in the toy aisle.

Target has YoGabba Gabba stuff. But I agree with a previous poster that baby dolls are always a good idea.
I got this for my 2 year old niece for her bday and SIL said it was a big hit:
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Say Please Tea Set : Target (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/176-1870708-8395623?ASIN=B001IEYXAA&AFID=Froogle&LNM=B001IEYXAA%7CFisher-Price_Laugh_&_Learn_Say_Please_Tea_Set=&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B001IEYXAA&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001)

I am a huge fan of crayola products. They've come along way since basic crayons and markers. We have a lot of color wonder stuff, pipsqueaks, etc. She is about at he right age for that stuff. Also, I agree with other posters baby dolls are great for little girls too. Oh, and tea sets, Melissa & Doug stuff, Memory or Lady Bug game, puzzles, legos or blocks... I could go on forever. I've been shopping on Amazon lately for kids in that age range.

What do I get her? What do lil ones like..I'm at a loss for one this age..She'll LOVE a Puma knife!!
People who know cutlery will only settle for true German craftsmanship in the knives they purchase. And with their artisan-quality construction, Puma knives have earned the reputation as some of the best Germany has to offer. Each blade in this series is crafted from a 1" bar of high-quality D1.4 cutlery steel and hot drop forged to precise tolerances. And to ensure a superior edge, they are then hand-ground 22 times, creating a superior cutting instrument. Each knife also boasts handles made from genuine stag antlers for superior grip and a classic look. Get her My Little Pony stuff! My baby turned 2 last week!
:boxing: so YOU are the one buying the MLP stuff out of Target, aren't cha??
My little girl loves my little ponies too - when I, um, I mean, Santa... :lmao: was doing some shopping for Christmas I noticed that Target seemed a little low on the MLP stuff... she had asked for one specific thing after seeing it in there and when I went back to get it, it was gone. :jameo:
I think I'm done my shopping now though - so you can have the rest :lmao:
My daughter loves Strawberry Shortcake too... she is almost 5 though. I hope your little one doesn't have a birthday around the same time as mine does (very late winter/early spring)? We might be :boxing: over the MLP and Strawberry shortcake stuff.... :lmao:

liberty, do you know if she has a doll stroller?? That was the BIGGEST hit with my daughter at that age. She LOVED to push stuff... my goodness, everything went into that stroller...
Don't get her something with too many 'parts' - they won't really grasp the concept of that stuff at that age. Simple is the way to go - a doll, a doll stroller (or something else they can push) or a 'tent' type thing - I don't know how much you want to spend, but you can get some neat little 'tents' (playhouses I guess they are called) for under $20 - they also have simple, toddler-oriented games like bowling with soft pins and a soft ball.
yes they have Yo Gabba Gabba toys... Target has some I know. But if that is her 'thing' then I'd bet that she is going to get toys like that from other people... I prefer to go the route of the sports/tent/activity stuff myself.

Thanks for the suggestions..I knew the forum mommies would have good ideas! That tea set is too cool! So is the play tent idea..I remember now that my little cousin practically lived in her tent at that age...and the stroller...I didn't think about any of these things..I think I have a better idea of stuff to look for. ..the kid wants for nothing...so i wanna get her something neat.
She's a little young for a knife...Better just let her play with some sharp scissors for awhile..you know..get used to running with them..and cutting up stuff..maybe the knife when she turns 3.:bigwhoop:

Make sure you get a play tent w/ the seperatable crawl tube. She will undoubtably stand upwhile half in the tube, and wander about the house encased in the thing, bumping into walls and random objects every few moments. My kids made for great entertainment in such a manner, and thus is will be as much a present to yourself as it is to her. Haha!

This is a new big thing with my 2 y/o too - she loves her ponies.

That's true if everyone knows she likes Yo Gabba Gabba the they may get her the a lot of that stuff. Plus, if it is just a phase she may get bored with the toys. There is a lot of other things out there like the suggestions on here from others that may hold her attention for years to come.
Our oldest daughter who is now 8 loved the shopping cart thing. She got one for either her 2nd or 3rd b-day I cannot quite remember. She also loved her little tent. We still have it and our now 13 mo. old plays in it all the time along with the tea set. She just drinks from the cups, bangs the plates together, etc. but she plays for a long time in it. It's funny when she crawls out of it though and doesn't pick her leg up and drags the tent with her...
I am sure whatever you pick out for her she will enjoy it. Good luck!

I LOVE Melissa and Doug stuff!! :yay: :yay:
A few years ago when I bought my daughter some of the stampers and magnetic dress up dolls I was a little skeptical because their stuff is sort of expensive. However, it is such good quality and educational (like the b-day cake, cutting veggies, etc.) that it is worth every penny.

Well my 2 year old is now saying that her Baby Alive is her favorite toy!
When my little KayKay was around 18 months to two years she saw a Baby Alive or some similar doll on TV. She wanted that doll that cried and made noises and pottied more than anything. I took her to Ames to get one and I will never forget her tottling up to the register holding that box that was only a couple of inches shorter than her. I remember being in line and watching her lay on that floor on her belly and staring into the face of that doll. I had to open that thing in the parking lot so she could hold it on the way home and she was mad I didn't put the batteries in until we got home. Now she will be turning eleven next month and could care less about dolls.:killingme
