I hope someone can answer this question for me. I recently requested to join a private group here at the site. I was just wondering, does the group send me a message back to "okay" my joining? How do I find out if I've been approved to join the group? Do I need to be looking somewhere specific to see if I've gotten the green light to jump in?

If you click on SM community forums it will show up as you scroll down...or if you hit "new posts" it will show up there as well if they let you in.

You won't get any notifications.

If they let you in, you'll see the forum with threads on your "new posts" page. They may choose to ignore your request and you will see your request pending in your CP. Or they may just deny you which you will see your pending request disappear and you won't see the forum.

I hit quite a few sometime last year & never heard a word. The option is gone now & I can't even click on them to get in to them.

Perhaps "someone" will start a helpful thread about it...They're mainly private forums that ppl. start then invite their friends. Most you have to be in a "clique" or you don't get in. Many are open to everyone like In the Kitchen, Photography, etc....
