I know of one that is never brought in..has frozen water and very little shelter. Sad.... A/C has been monitoring the problem.

Oh boy, my pups have made yellow ice sculptures every time they wanted out this morning. Weather.com says it's 20* and a windchill of 1*. :faint:

It's a shame they cannot subject the "owner" to the same conditions for a day or three...

It's very sad. He's a gorgeous Lab and is so sweet. He gets NO attention from his family and they often go away for days and nobody is there.
My husband would kill me if I brought the horses in the house but don't think it hasn't crossed my mind.

Maybe the next time these idiots go away for a few days, someone should help themselves to a new Lab to love. I'll never understand why people bother getting an animal to leave it outside. What's the point?
Poor dog. What is AC monitoring, doesn't it constitute animal cruelty in these low temps? No water or food for days? The poor dog isn't going to make it through this!

you can put a nice warm horsey blanket on them to keep them warm :). Catt to the person who owns the lab (they shouldn't be pet owners). the owner of the dog and someone i know think the same way about animals oh its just a dog or oh its just a cat. My mom and I were the ones to save bruno from being an outdoor dog as we got bruno during the winter 2yrs ago and my stepfather just couldn't see leaving her outside. I did all the housebreaking they helped a little but it is a hard task to do and I can say we made it through it. Bruno stays in where its warm on really cold days but if its near 60 out she goes out in the fenced in yard and runs around for an hour or so in the morning and same in the afternoon but on days like today shes out to do her business then back in my nice and warm apt.

Gidget wants desperately to go out. She'll sit there for a second, then she wants right back in. Kiki and Claudia aren't dumb and they aren't even remotely interested in going into the arctic blast.

Very sad!! There are a few neighborhood cats that are always outside, even in these temperatures. I want to bring them in and keep them warm (and safe). :frown:

AC has been over there two times in the last month or so. They give them time to comply and the owners do the minimum. He's such a sweet dog but they never interact with him at all. :frown:

If you are serious, I'd bet they'd give him up if we approached them with an alternative home. He's not neutered, not on heartworm meds. He's beautiful..big yellow lab..with a big ole head..very sturdy looking. I think he's about 5 or so...they've had him since he was a pup.
I was just talking to my "family member" about him yesterday and said perhaps if we could find somebody willing to take him and went at it from that angle, they might just give him up. He sits in the back yard and barks and whines and nobody every comes out. I think he's in the garage now although he was out a good bit this morning.

I was really kidding... As much as I'd like to help him out...We just can't take another one right now...I feel so bad for a dog like that....I bet he would make someone a great companion...I know how these Labs are...

So sad, I wish we could take him but we have our hands full with our hyper black Lab and cat, as well as the baby. It's amazing that he's still such a sweet dog, due to the horrible conditions that he's being forced to deal with.

I'll help too! :yahoo: Seriously though, I wish someone would take him from them. When I was about 11, my Dad took a Lab from a co-worker of his who was abusing him. Gave him the choice - give up the dog or ac would be called. Guess the guy thought ac would do more than they do b/c we had ourselves a new dog to love. The best dog after a lot of tlc, even protected our cat from the neighbor's dog.

If I could snatch him I would. If he goes to The Big House (AC) he might get The Deep Sleep if not adopted. Nobody seems to want the larger, older dogs. I hope for the best for him.
