Now that everyone is distracted with the Harry Reid gaff, I wonder what's going on behind those closed-door healthcare meetings.

Harry appears to be already doomed (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/most_recent_videos2/reid_s_unfavorables_jump). So what does he have to lose by taking a dive with a distracting gaff.

Is this whole Harry Reid "light-skinned one with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one" comment meant as a ploy to distract Americans and the media for the next few days so they can slip their healthcare theft project under the table?

If this is true, it just only shows that Harry doesn't know any fat chicks with a penchant for cigars.

And the press is making a BIG deal of a gaff from almost two years ago? A definite smoke screen.

and now they are saying he should step down, seems like this is how it always ends.

GOP chair: Reid should step down following race remark - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/10/reid.obama/index.html)

SO they can have new blood, maybe someone a little more moderate in place before the elections?

Reminds me of when George Allen said Macaca.

It didnt amount to Squat, but the Democrats blew it out of all proportion, now the shoe is on the other foot. Wear it in good health Harry.

So let it be until ~1 month before the election...

The GOP is calling for Reid to step down as the Majority leader, not to give up his seat. It is my understanding this is a quote from a book that just got published.

I find it fascinating watching the Dems defend Reid. For example:
Top Democrat defends Reid for remarks - Washington Times (http://washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jan/10/top-democrat-defends-reid/?feat=home_headlines)
"I think if you look at the reports as I have, it was all in the context of saying positive things about Senator Obama," said Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine. "It definitely was in the context of recognizing in Senator Obama a great candidate and future president."Yeah, well if you look at the context of what Trent Lott said, it was all in the context of saying positive things about Strom Thurmond at his 100th birthday party. :ohwell:

The hypocrisy is stunningly clear.

Al Sharpton all people, who has never seen a race comment he didn't come uncorked over is even voicing support for Reid. Al the consummate huckster is such a tool for this. He is only appalled by race comments that come from the right and not his masters on the left.

I wonder what Don Imus has to say to Al Sharpton about his blind eye to Reids comments.

Reid has the power to earmark something to Sharpon to keep his piehole shut! :coffee:

It may just be getting older but I don't really remember a time when so many "political" people have gotten thrown under the bus for "the cause". Just as an aside, conducting business in that manner tends to have a real negative effect over the long-term. People start to get a little paranoid about protecting their jobs putting them in defensive mode and lessening any loyalty that might have been there. And then the fun really starts...

This is getting even more interesting to watch...:coffee:

If Obama was a real man he could have just said: WHO CARES WHAT HE CALLED ME? Who cares what anyone calls anyone! He could have ended this cry baby Democrat PC BS right there but he didn't because he'd put a million lawyers out of business...
