Hoyer: Senate Health Care Bill Better Than Nothing | TPMDC (http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/01/hoyer-senate-health-care-bill-better-than-nothing.php)

At his weekly press conference this morning, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) told reporters that the Senate health care bill would be better than no reform at all. He also insisted that, if Republican Scott Brown wins the Massachusetts Senate special election tonight, Congress can act to pass reform in the approximately 15-day window between tonight and when Republican Scott Brown is officially seated

the Senate health care bill would be better than no reform at all.

Translation: Even though we wanted to wrest complete power away from the free market, at least wresting some power away is better than wresting no power at all.

Translation: The average American citizen in a ####in' idiot, so screw them... they'll want whatever the #### I TELL them they want, and they will like it. If they don't like it, they can kiss my fish-belly white ass, my job is safer than a baby in its mother's womb, wrapped in bubblewrap, sealed in a bubble, placed in a safe, and locked in a vault and I will do as I please with no accountability. Vote in November, suckers, I dare ya. HAH!

There is a part of me that thinks, "no, they couldn't possibly be that stupid, to think that we the people will tolerate whatever they do just to get Health Care passed, because after all, it's Obama's keystone."

And then, the other part of me reaches up and takes off those old, shattered but still with a small corner to see out of, rose-colored glasses, and the reality kicks in and I realize that I now expect any and ALL dirty tricks from these people. THAT is the truly sad part! There is no more, even slightest, belief that our government will act in the best interest of the people.

Call me a pessimist but I don't believe that the Massachusetts' election of Scott Brown will make any difference at all to the Washington agenda. They will STILL believe, "well, it can't happen to me" for re-election.

Weiner (D-NY) was on last night saying his job was more important than passing a health care bill

Even if the leadership is intent on 'full speed ahead', it's gonna find that a lot of its troops aren't on board anymore.

I guess we will soon see which ones live in gerrymandered districts with a Democrat lock.

Steny thinks he is in one, so he will vote for anything Nancy tells him to.

Others who have to work to win, had better start looking to their hole card.
