I have a 95 Mercury Sable and I am having problems with driver rear wheel. I took off the tire and the rotor was very hot. My car is also making a noise when u drive. but when u put your foot on the brake it goes away so I replace all the brakes and rotors and the noise was still there, so i replace the rear hub assembly on both sides. so i am thinking it could be the brake calliper? does anybody know??

Check the rubber flex hose or a kink in the metal brake line.

It could be the piston in the caliper has corrosion and is sticking not releasing the pads off the rotors.
If they do not sell a rebuild kit for it (new piston and seals) get a new rotor and try it.

Check the metal clamps around the rubber hoses, they will get corroded and swell up this keeps the brake fluid from returning to the resevoir causing the brakes to drag.

Don't replace the caliper without replacing the flex line.
BUT, before you replace those, polish up the caliper at the points where the brake pads are supposed to "slide". With it being a '95, no doubt they are rusted and crudded up. clean them good with a wire brush and then use emory cloth (sand paper) on the areas where the brake pads contact the caliper (at both ends, for both pad areas) to get them good and smooth...they don't have to be shiney or perfectly smooth. DO NOT PAINT these areas.
Try that first. If that doesn't improve it, then you'll need to replace the caliper and the flex line.
since 75% braking is on the front, just do this.
1) clamp vice grips on line to seal it off (use old pair as they will stay here forever)
2) cut line
3) take big screwdriver and pry pads away from rotor.
you are welcome.

I have actually made that repair while 4 wheeling. I recommend you cut the line near the caliper though..in case in your rush to get out of teh mud and cold and pouring rain, you mistakenly cut the wrong line and have to borrow an additional pair of vice grips.

I know.
I hope nobody actually is dumb enough to use this repair on a vehicle that they plan to run on the roads. :killingme

I sold an old Volvo one time that had been sitting. Guy started towing it down the road, but the brakes were dragging, getting hotter and seizing. He wasn't able to back them off, so he slathered grease all over the drums and shoes, put it back together and made it to his house.
Gotta love those field repairs...

could be caliper, e-brake sticking, or maybe bearings?
Is it still getting hot, now that you replaced the pads???
You say you installed the breaks yourself. did yours come with a rattle clip. If you forgot to install it, it will drag lightly and make noise.
