I have this nagging pain on the inside of my elbow... It's tolerable most of the time but when I lift heavy, usually on back days, it all but shuts down my workouts. I was talking to a guy at work and he said it sounds like "throwers elbow". Has any one dealt with this and if so what did you do about it? I know I should just go see my doc but who want's to do that ; ) TIA

"Doc, it hurts when I do this..."

"Don't do that."

Ok, seriously, it could be a couple of things, like RSI or arthritis. Best to see an ortho, get an x-ray and an eval.

Bursitis or as it is more commonly known...tennis elbow. Had it for a long time. It will go away if you stop what you are doing to aggrevate it. I had to stop lifting for about 3 months. That and taking anti-inflamatory medication.

I thought tennis elbow was when the pain is on the outer-side of the elbow? I might be totally wrong though...

Might not be bursitis. Go see doc.

:yeahthat: I've been suffering through it since the end of February and am only now starting to get use of my arm back. What worked for me was to stop lifting with that arm and to take prescription strength doses of Motrin (800 ml) on a steady basis to ease the inflammation. The key is consistent inflamatory meds... If I took it sporatically, the inflammation would flare and I'd be right back where I started. Ice packs feel good too.

That sucks! Sounds pretty similar though. I've been dealing with this for the last 4 weeks, just pushing through it. Finally starting to make some decent gains too. The last thing I wanna do is take time off... especially not 3 months :shocking: I'll lose everything I've gained!
