Floyd Abell passed away today :(

Oh how sad.:bawl: I used to live across the street from him 16 years ago. I guess it was his time to reunite with his wife. He will me missed by many.

How sad. Was he ill? I swear I just saw him at WaWa about a week ago and he looked great! Maybe it wasn't him?

RIP Floyd.

RIP Floyd.

Everything happened very fast. He'd been in the hospital for a week and was ill. This has been a very difficult time.

Always sad when someone passes. I didn't know him, but I bet I would have liked him. Here's to his eternal peace.

I had the opportunity to travel with Floyd to NWS in Sterling, VA - what a joy! His service to this county will sorely be missed.

Does anyone remember/have a copy of the CD of poems that Floyd made and sold?

Southern MD and the weather enthusiast community lost a great treasure...

When I was in middle school I used to call his weather recording line every morning before I caught the bus. It was the best source for St. Mary's specific weather.

somd.com and thebaynet.com should seriously do an article on Floyd. I have called him almost everyday for the past 15 years or so (as I am sure many others did as the line was always busy!) He deserves a bio/article... just my two cents..
