Yes! he was being too intense..I am glad they tried to lighten the character up a bit. haha he was like "youre not looookinggg" or when he meant to say hooker but said hookah.."that's a water pipe" I was cracking up. tara is usually good for a laugh..but all shes doing is crying.

Meanwhile lafayette is amazing. If he was real...he would be my best friend. He is by far my favorite character. though it was awkward to see him flirting like a 15 year old girl with his new boytoy.

I really, really wanted to like True Blood. I watched the first season but I couldnt get past their accents, they made my ears bleed. I did really like Lafayette, I agree with LT we would be best buddies IRL. :buddies:

As far as Bill in the sunlight - remember in the first season he was able to get from his house to the cemetery without completely burning, so it's probably not an instantaneous thing. Plus it seems like they were kind of in a shaded area, out in the woods, so it took a second for the sunlight to start to burn him.

I think this is the first time that I'm not really thrilled with the liberties they're taking when deviating from the books. I don't like the whole Magistrate storyline and I don't like that Sookie has extra powers. In the books her "specialness" (no spoilers :lol:) is subtle - no light coming out of her hands. :lol:

And Queen Sophie Ann had an interest in her... Something tells me that Sookie's blood, in large amounts, allows the vamps to burn very, very slowly. Hence the reason the Queen wanted her.

I am SO GLAD Lorena is D-E-A-D. She was sooo messed up in the head... she wasnt happy no matter what. I honestly felt bad for her because of that and a lot of her peers seemed to mock her. But I disliked her at the same time.

Ok so in last night's episode (8/1/2010) when Jason goes to Lafayette for meth (lol) and finds out that Sookie is in the hospital, there is a tin of Old Bay on the shelf in Merlotte's kitchen.

Ive been to LA. Not Bon Temps, but to New Orleans. I ordered dinner once and asked for Old Bay. People looked at me like I was crazy. I tried to explain what it was and what the tin looked like. EVERYONE local was like "We dont carry any of that... never heard of it. We got Seafood Seasoning, but not that other stuff." Apparently LA has no clue what Old Bay is.

So therefore... Im guessing True Blood is filmed in like VA or something. Maybe FL for the Spanish Moss and gator effects :wink:

It wasnt until I actually paid attention to the credits that I relized it says "Based off of the Sookie Stackhouse novels" lol. Mary Ann's who mess creeped me out! Ugg I did NOT like her. Was she in the books? And Jessica isnt in the books? Really? Hmmm... Interesting. Well I am DEFINITELY glad they kept Lafayette alive :yay:

Hold up. You can most definitely eat blue crab without any seasoning, Old Bay included. The addition of Old Bay, however, makes them extra delicious :wink:

I will eat the occasional crab cake, I have not eaten them straight. I must say, a bit too far over the work to food ratio for my taste. Like say chipmunks, the effort put into getting the critter ready is more than the food you get back:) Its not size alone though, steamed clams, however, are okay, becuase the work to food ratio is okay. Pry once, you get a full bite. Crabs, takes a lot of effort to get a bites worth of meat:)

Mary Ann was in the second book briefly (no name, just that she was a Maenad), but not nearly as much as in the TV show. Also, when Bill killed that vampire in the first season/book, he wasn't punished (presumably because the vampire had betrayed Eric, so it was justified) so he was never forced to create Jessica. I like her, though. :lol:

Yea, the books definately have a lot of differences compared to the show, but they're both really good :1bdz:

I have not read the books, but watch the show. I like it for the most part. I like the direction they are going, and the mystery surrounding Sookie (i.e. what is she).

My hubby took HBO off because it was too costly keep me posted on True blood since I cant watch it. I have read all the books and I was so looking forward to this season. I am addicted to Eric :love:.

so...I was a tad disapointed, I felt like they didn't answer enough questions for me..but perhaps I just have to be patient. I am not sure how I feel about the "lost in fairyland" plot they are going with, because I am too curious about what happened in a year..like what happened with sophie ann and Bill? it seems like he ended her, but shes sup to be back this season :shrug: And tara? I just don't think her situation fits her character at all. It's kinda random.

I was really not into the fairy thing, but luckily the show picked up once they got out of there. Hopefully last night's episode was a jumping off point and they will spend the next few episodes catching up. In the previews for next week somebody said "How did you get to be king?" (or something like that) so hopefully that will be explained. Did anyone else notice that they gave Bill a haircut? He looks MUCH better. :lol: Also, why is Hoyt's mom taking care of Sam's brother? :lol:

I watched it. Other than the whole Bill as king story line I thought Ep. 2 was better than 1. It sets up the whole Eric storyline from book 4 at the end.

Must be from the future because Sookie doesn't have powers (other than the reading minds thing) in the books. Although on the show when Eric regained his memory he did still remember what happened when he was with Sookie so McFly wasn't 100% right.

I did read the books, but this wasn't in them. And I didn't get it totally right, since Eric remembers their time together. It just seemed like a resonable solution to the problem of Eric's memory, since the witch is unable/unwilling to fix it. I'm not sure how next week will play out, but looks pretty cool. I'm mad that they killed off Jesus. I liked him and it seems like Lafayette can never catch a break. :lol: I'm glad they killed Nan because she's always been annoying, although it seems like they're setting up some conflict with The Authority for next season. That could be interesting. I'm interested to find out if Eric will be the one to come to Sookie's rescue with the dead body/Tara thing.

I've already started watching the Season 4 recaps that are on now. Apparently it's supposed to start season 5 right where 4 left off. With Tara's head half gone in the kitchen...but, they did confirm that Tara would be back for Season 5.

It sucks because we're only getting HBO on a preview. No longer have it now, which makes no sense because HBO and Cinemax are supposed to be on the same package. But we get Cinemax and Showtime.

The Tara in the books is not very similar to the Tara in the TV show. They have ventured far away from the books, which I think is a good thing. Lafayette was actually killed at the end of the first book, and I do not want to imagine True Blood without Lafayette. :lmao:

I am glad pam's flashbacks are making her guilty about abandoning tara. Those two could really be an awesome team! Tara is still annoying. She needs to snap out of whatever it is that shes in, and get her attitude back. this crazy eyed I hate you stuiff is getting old.

I am still curious about where russel is and how he got there..but I am a little confused about why eric and bill arei n trouble..Bill anyway has always been a proponent of mainstreaming..why is he being treated like he isnt? Its a little confusing. Nora "confessed" to save them, but that's a little confusing too. I know she disobeyed orders..but that whole plot line seems disorganized or unfinished..perhaps more details will straighten that out for me. i am also curious as to what salome is doing with those two and what her intentions are.

Ah, yes....Lots of buildup, and I'm sure by the end of this season things will (hopefully) be more clear.

Bill and Eric are in trouble for killing Nan Flanagan. I think the assumption on the Authority's part is that they killed her because they were part of the Sanguinist movement. Remember, last season Nan told Bill and Eric that The Authority sentenced her to the true death (or planned to) because of the shenanigans at that party with the necromancers and the vampires. So, from that I gather that The Authority is pretty much a zero tolerance type of organization and they kill anyone who stands in the way of mainstreaming. They have no reason to take Bill at his word when someone within their own organization (Nora) has admitted to being a sanguinist. In regards to Russel Edgington, I would think that members of this sanguinist faction somehow found out where he was buried and dug him up. Like Detective Stabler said, he's their Osama bin Laden. :lmao:

The guy that Jessica smelled was probably a fairy. The reason she didn't make the connection between him and Sookie is that Sookie is only part fairy (1/8 in the books) so she obviously doesn't smell as potent.

Go back and watch it again. Russell's there. Look for the body being dragged in to the locked room. Well, not a dead body; not yet. There's another brief scene, but his visage is so altered, you might not have realized that it was Russell you were seeing. He's feeling poorly. :lol:

It has been driving me crazy who the older woman is in the Authority. Watching TV with the kids just made me figure it out. She is Mrs. Chesterfield (or looks a heck of a lot like her) from Jessie (Disney TV show).

So the wife and I are 3 episodes in on season 4... Why does it seem to just keep getting weirder and weirder with each season... Neither of us read the books. Just watched each season slowly but surely..

To me, it feels like, maybe they only wanted 2 seasons, but the ratings have been good enough to keep it going, and now they are out of ideas and have gotten lost in thought (like eric is now :lol:)

Glad they did. We know the guy at the "gun store" was in on it. since he tried killing Sam and/or Andy. I like the idea of Jason getting in on it. Good question on Newlin....haven't seen him in a few episodes.

I have a feeling there is something more to the fairy thing....somewhere along the line. Now that Andy and Jason know where it is, it could be a bad thing if he gets mixed up with the guys going around killing every supe.....maybe. I think you're right about ti being a known vampire. If I remember right, her mom was a fairy. A few episodes ago, she had a flashback and her mom knew she could hear people's thoughts.

This season took it's time getting going, but I think each episode leaves you wanting more.

I figured it'd be Lafayette who gets rid of the Ifrit. Something will happen between them to get rid of that thing.

I'm really loving the Pam/Tara thing, and I didn't expect to at all.

I feel like Bill is trying to get on their "good side", and will do soemthing from the inside.

As far as that vampire, I'm not sure, but it seems like she created a monster by getting inside it's head. That scene where he came out of the smoke reminded me of the Lion King :lol:

I kept thinking that too, but the profile didn't look like him at all..and the creepy thing coming after her doesn't really make sense if it were bill..so thats why I was second guessing it.

I LOVE Russell this season. I do not know what it is because I could have given or taken him when he first joined the show (season 2 or 3?...cannot remember off the top of my head).

Luna is a skinwalker so she can change into people. Tommy became a skinwalker when he killed his parents, and if I recall correctly he accidentally changed into Sam so maybe it's not something they have much control over?

I have a feeling that the vampire that killed Sookie's parents is someone we don't know, or at least someone we don't know well (maybe one of the Authority people). He had a deep gravelly voice and the part of his face that was shown didn't look familiar. You know it has something to do with whatever's going on with Bill and Eric though because it always ends up coming back full circle.

I'm just not in to it this season. I've always liked Russell Edgington but he's twice as badass this season. But all the main characters have been moved to the back burner and the secondary characters are the main characters.

Now, The Newsroom, that's a great TV show :yay:
