This was such a fun event last year and we had lots of interest in our adoptable animals. :drummer:

So far, the rescue groups that will be attending will be:
PAWS, SMAWL, Greyt Expectations, Humane Society of Calvert County, Golden Retriever Rescue and Friends of Felines.
Tri County animal shelter and S.P.O.T. will be there as well as Calvert County animal control.

Phyxius and Loper will be taking their awesome pet pictures/portraits.

Dr. Darnell will be offering low cost microchipping between 2 and 4 pm.

We are gathering some awesome raffle and silent auction items

We are still putting together a list of vendors and others that will be attendance. Of course, Pepper's pet Pantry will be there! :whistle:

Of course, we will have a couple suprises, too!

Free Admission and music! Midnight's dog training will have agility demonstrations. DoggieStylez will be doing pawdicures with the proceeds going to the spay/neuter/wellness pet clinic. The Tiki bar will be providing refreshments and beverages for the kids plus a free spread provided by The Grille Sergeant Barb-B-Que.
If anyone is interested in vending; or rescues interested in bringing animals, please contact me.
I will post the contest schedule shortly.

Also, we can use volunteers if anyone can give a few hours of their time.

It is going to be a great event and a lot of fun whether you bring pets or not; whether you drink or not.
Regardless of what anyone says or thinks about the Tiki bar, they have been very generous and held a lot of fundraisers for local groups as well as national (Recently "Little Black Dress" for Parkinsons disease-which we attended)

Though it's too early to rely on- the weather forecast for Sunday is sunny in the mid 70's!

Advance raffle tickets are available at Pepper's Pet Pantry. $5 ea or 5 for $20.
There are some great raffle prizes including gift bags w/ Earthbath products (pet shampoos, conditioners, spritzes), bags of Taste of the Wild dog and cat foods, EVO cat and dog foods, gift certs to the Laughing Buddha and Ruddy Duck, gift basket from Training by Julie and Associates, Hand made dog bed by Stichin Up, Gift basket from Dogswell, Gift cert for training by Midnight's Dog Training and Agility, T shirts from several places including "That Dog-Gone Tiki Bar" event and too many other items to list.

If you cannot make the event, we will sell tickets up until 5PM Sat at the store. Winners need not be present to win.

Todays the Day!!! :dye:

Loper & Phyxius were there until late last night setting up their photo room! The sitting fee will be $5 per animal and will be donated to the Calvert low cost spay neuter and well pet clinic! Prints will be available through SmugMug for an additional fee.
Midnight's dog training will hold agility demos all day. Bring your doggies and let thm run the course- see if they coordinated or not!
DoggieStylez from PF will offer "pawdicures"; last year they donated all the money collected to the clinic. Stichin Up Will have be embroidering doggie dannas, always a big hit!
Greyt Expectations, Humane Society of Calvert County, Saint Mary's Animal Welfare League, PAWS, and the Golden Retriever Rescue will have animals for adoption. Mostly dogs, but there will be some cats and kittens looking for great homes as well.
Dog Watch of southern MD, Countrysides Pet Paradise, Training by Julie and Associates, Tri County AS, SPOT and Animal Control will be present with information about their services.
Pepper's Pet Pantry will have free treat and food samples. We will also have treats and toys and a few gifty items for sale.
Dr Kristina darnell will offer microchipping for $25-which includes registration. That will be from 2-4 PM only

There are many great auction items and raffle prizes, too. Many donated items like pet food, treats, toys, grooming supplies. Gift certs include the Ruddy Duck, Naughty Gull, Laughing Buddah. Auction items include a complete aquarium set, airplane ride, Panera bread (loaf a month for a year), and a lot more. (sorry, all this is from memory and I've had less than a cup of coffee!)

Pet contests are fun and we have cool prizes and certificates for them.
