A long time ago I posted that I wanted to find a cat that looked like her, so that if she died, I could replace her with a lookalike, and Hubby would be none the wiser. He said once she died, no more cats dangit!. Well, she died at the age of 20, and he buried her. I love cat's so much, and really want one. Or 4, but hubby was fed up with the smell. As kitty got older she couldn't find her box. Anyway, I hope someday he will change his mind. I miss kitty, and will never forget her, she was leash trained, a good mouser, and no matter what new pet came into the house, she always accepted them. She outlived many of our pets.

Sorry you lost her. Let your memories keep you company for now and in time he may decide another wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I'm so sorry. Allow yourself some time to grieve and then when your heart is open to really appreciate the new pet, they'll come along. Don't worry about replacing with a similar looking pet, they are all adorable in their own way and shouldn't be a replacement for anyone. Hubby will get over it! Just keep talking about it and he'll see how important it is to you. Besides, who died and left him in charge!?

My husband said no cats early in our relationship. Welll that was unacceptable. Heres what you do, go find a baby kitty, very young, that you want. Bring it home and drop on floor. When hubby comes home dont say anything. Eventually kitty will stroll into the room. I played dumb, where did that come from. Well it turns out kittens are like babies. The first time you hold them in your arms, you fall in love fast. Happens every time. I now have 5 cats. And hubby loves every one of them.

gee see there are benefits to hubby-less - I can have as many cats as I want, yet I limit myself ... I can understand how he feels about the smell - I scoop litter every day - sometimes 2 X a day and there are only 2 to 4 cats in the house any any given time (fosters vary).

I did try the "World's Best Cat Litter" (expensive) and it wasn't any better than Fresh Step IMO, so I went back to Fresh Step.

hey maybe we can find another cat for you and claim your kitty was reincarnated?

Sorry for your loss.
