If I remember correctly they can ban you from that forum and won't show up for you, but I don't think the bans are lifted. So once you make your mind up it's a one time deal.

This is correct, Ive asked the same question.

Have to agree with Nucklesack, i don't want to put the Election Forum on ignore or anything but i won't be reading it or posting on it again since Clem and Themis have taken it over for their own personal agendas or lack there of. I really thought this forum would have been a great place for election news till they took it over. Just looked at the front page and they have 18 threads. Ill go old school and back to the newspapers.. I think i am seeing why Libertarian bagged out of here.

No offense, but why does anyone think that every single thread has to be something of interest to them? I'm not interested in 3/4 of the threads that get posted in here, but do I get all pissy about it? No. No, I don't.

I simply don't read them.

If you don't like what someone else has to say, there are just as many people who DO like it. And since we have to share our world, not to mention our forum, everyone gets a say and can be as freakin' boring as they want to. Because lack of interest is a matter of opinion.

So good riddance to anyone who bags out of here because - OMG!!! - someone posts a thread they aren't interested in.

:high5: I was just going to post nearly the same thing!

Good grief - is there no self control or will power anymore? Just don't open a thread!! Life is too short, people.

A tip, because I'm not a complete and total beyotch:

If you hover your cursor over a thread title, you'll see the first part of the post. That way you don't even have to commit to a click if it doesn't seem like something you're interested in.

Sharon taught me that.

I don't have him on ignore, I just don't read his trifling posts.

It was a long time ago.

Even better... when you have a tard on iggy and s/he starts a thread nothing shows. :yahoo: You see the title but not the text.

Because you are hosting a Public Forum for the purpose of entertaining those that visit. Why else would we come if we werent interested?
I simply don't read them.
I dont either, the reason i asked was for a simpler way to filter the "New Posts".

Just like yourself, i am only interested in what interests me on this board.

And, again, it's not all about you. Just because you aren't interested doesn't mean nobody is.

I can indeed block you from the Elections forum, but I cannot ensure that every single post someone makes will be something of interest to you. You will have to compromise.

the problem is, I think most people did have a real interest in the topic when it first started, I did..mostly because it is my first real taste of the fun local politics can be..but it quickly dissolved into something much more than posting interesting information, or opposing sides of a story..it became flaming, repetitive, and a nusiance.

They should just all go jello wrestle and punch it out.

Ok, should have said that sooner....
Goto Search, Advanced Search, and fill in the search criteria you want (to/from dates), and select only to forums you wish to view (Control-Click on each one to select multiple forums, ignoring the ones you don't want), then at the bottom, save your search preferences for next time.

Crude, but it should work.

Nebermind.... it forces a text field to be used..... won't work the way I thought.

If you'll lay off the melodrama for a minute, you'd find out the only reason i wanted to block the two of them was to make sorting "New Posts" easier.

But carry on.

And i didnt say one way or the other.

Obviously some people are annoyed by the messages themselves in the Election forums, so they assumed my request had to do with that.

Sorry, what I meant was specifying what you were looking for. I, and apparently others, thought you wanted a way to turn off viewing of the forums themselves.

It would be nice if the New Post search had an /Exclude option, or a way in your User Control Panel to select forums to view or not.

vraiblonde, could you set up a person page for me that would sort new post every Wed., Friday and the third Sunday of the month. Could you filter out all of Nothing's posts and have all your posts flash in red, white and blue. Also can you please bring me a cup of coffee every morning, too. Oh, and no melodrama please.
