...how to open sliding screen doors. She lays down on her side and hooks her claws in, and pulls it right open.
:ohwell:
I'm glad Kiki is dumb. She's the only cat I still like. Except when she insists on sleeping on everything I don't want her messing with.

Who woulda thunk??? Cat Ingelligence...
Opening doors and windows
Cats that are accustomed to being let outside, or that want to get into their home, may learn to open windows and doors. They are capable of learning different routes for entry and exit; for instance a cat might find the window in its owner's kitchen easier to open to exit the house, but to get in, they might have to use the screen door in the backyard. Also, they may learn to open cupboard doors to get to food. Cats' paws are not as effective at manipulation as human hands, owing to lack of an opposable thumb, but they can for instance learn to operate door lever handles by pulling them down, even though gripping the handle is difficult for cat paws.

Don't feel bad, I have 2 that insist on sleeping on me and a 3rd who's been taking notes. When I go to bed at night I have at least one cat ON me, not just in bed.

Great - then instead of getting up and down to open and close the door, she can get up and down locking and unlocking the dog door.

Well sometimes you won't want them to go in/out at will? So those times you lock it. Like at night and when you're not at home.
A relative found a thin and very bad looking fox at her porch-side kitty door yesterday - scared the crap out of her. She's going to make the entrance smaller to be sure the fox can't get onto the porch, which leads to the sliding glass kitty door into the house.
then I should just install a revolving door..... :killingme
