No but I am leaving my car there soon for a trip I'm making.

Do you mean for picking someone up at the airport? :jameo:

Oddly enough, me and the folks over at the stromtrooper forum discussed this recently:) Actually I started a poll about it:)

Stromtrooper Forum : Suzuki V-Strom Forums - View Poll Results (http://www.stromtrooper.com/general-v-strom-discussion/poll-342-would-you-leave-your-bike-airport-lot-5-7-days.html)

Poll: would you leave your bike in an airport parking lot? - Stromtrooper Forum : Suzuki V-Strom Forums (http://www.stromtrooper.com/general-v-strom-discussion/58036-poll-would-you-leave-your-bike-airport-parking-lot.html)

Right now, results are a dead heat between the No problem crowd and the No way in hell crowd, 41 each, with about 10 saying if they could chain it to a solid object:) Now, keep in mind, we ride bikes renowned for ugliness. We also had a thread about bikes stolen, and no person could report any theft of a VeeStrom, anywhere:) And thats a global crowd. Your purty little thing, Larry, results might vary:yahoo:

Of course, some of the no problem folks travel out of airports like St Marys, small regional ones, and others use airports that have dedicated M/C parking, like Seattle or LAX. If BWI, Dulles, or Reagan have that, I dont know.

Me, I would, if weather is okay.

Oh. Don't know.

I'm leaving my car for the first time ever at an airport this weekend. I'm usually taking people to the airport, or someone has taken me - I've never left my car.

Are you leaving out of BWI? My husband leaves his car there (about 4 days at the most) and has never had any problems.

Depends on the trip.

A couple of days gone and I'd consider it. But a longer trip you'll probably be tired when you return and riding takes a lot more effort than driving.

I'd also look up the airports assumed liability for your vehicle. It's not difficult to pick a bike up and throw it in the back of a truck.

:yeahthat:

No one ever messed with my bike, but weather forecasts change too. Big drag getting off a 5 hour flight, pouring down rain and temp at 38 degrees. Pack your rainsuit.

I would assume you're traveling very light...

Aps, its not that easy. I thought about that, but really, the folks who might be tempted to toss bikes in the back of trucks, they are scouting places where you find bikes, and I dont think thats the airport parking.

Bann, I have left my cars at all three airports for 3-7 day trips a couple three times a year for the last eight years and never had a problem.

my, I suppose that depends on what you mean by light. My bike, I could safely carry, as it sits, my 20" rolling carryon, and my smaller carryon for inflight stuff. Thats good for a four-five day trip. My riding gear would stow in the bikes topcase. Once I mount the side cases, I could safely carry even more.

Nope. Normal. CPAP, back pack. Good for about a month for me if I use both sides of the underwear.

Use the express parking...it gives you the most security/proximity for your buck.

If, of course, you can get reimbursed for that. Some companies will, some wont.

Is it insured?

I'd ride your bike.. worst cast it gets stolen, and you get the downpayment on the RT..
