I did, he said he couldn't pay me and then he filed a countersuit against me for trying to get the money owed to me.

The suit you filed said he stole your land it didn't say anything about him not making the payments because he was up till the time you told him to give the land back or you would sue him for stealing it.You put yourself in this situation. I still think he would be willing to work out some kind of deal if you would stop being stubborn because he filed the countersuit. If this gets to a courtroom you're not going to come out of it well.
Call the man, have your lawyer call him, have your husband, a relative, a friend call him.

GRAND JURY INDICTMENTS: As the investigation into Daniel Jason Brown, age 31 of Leonardtown, continues, there are sixty-eight additional counts that were handed down by the Grand Jury for St. Mary's County.
