I am a vet tech with 5years professional experience and life long personal animal experience. I can come to your home walk your babies feed and give them attention while your on vacation. There isnt an animal i wont take care of. Snakes, birds, fish, big dogs, little dogs, ferrets and anything else. I can also give any and all meds that your pet may need. Are they one fluids at home? I can do that too! Pill a cat sure i can do that. I do work full time and have 9 animals of my own 2 dogs 6 kitties and a ferret whom i love dearly and will love your babies just as much when your away. I would like to stay local to waldorf but exceptions can be made i can even take care of your pets on weekends and holidays. Regular rate is $35-60 a day depending on how many visits to be made and how many pets. Holiday rates are $45-70. please email me at email above if you would like me to come take care of your pets.

Are you bonded? Insured? What is included in the $35-$60 a day rate?

Most importantly, did you place a classified ad on SOMD classifieds?

So if you work full time how would you adminster meds at say 10 & 2  Would my pets have to wait for you to get off of work and then go home and take care of your own pets before you came and let mine outside? Maybe you should just offer your services on the weekends or holidays.
Oh you didn't place an ad, sorry that's the rules.

I was just teasing BuddyLee. Not being bonded and insured would be a deal breaker for me when looking for a petsitter. Good luck!

Ebrown, you might want to check out: Southern Maryland Association of Professional Pet Sitters (http://somdpetsitters.com/) . We are a networking group of Pet Sitters in the area. However, we do require that all Pet Sitting businesses be insured and bonded in order to be members. We meet monthly and our meetings are a good place to learn how to start a Pet Sitting business. The very first advice I would offer is to get insured and bonded. I have been in business since 2003, so I've learned a few things along the way. Most importantly is that I would never Pet Sit without insurance. So many things can go wrong that you would never expect.

If you'd like more information, visit the website and send us an email.

:yay: good advice. Same goes for groomers and trainers... I've noticed very few "home business" are insured for liability, when I was training down in FL I think I was the only one I knew who carried insurance. :yay:

I also, personally, will not do business with anyone who is not insured.

No one is taking care of my animals and/or coming into my home without being a legitimate business, being bonded and insured.
I personally love the Dog Nanny in Lusby :-)

Do they have a website? I see they are on Golden West Way which is right around the corner from us. Would love to go that route instead of boarding our dog.

Just because you have a DL and insurance doesn't mean you can get onto a MILITARY BASE. you MUST have a military ID unless the person you are pety sitting for gets you a guest pass and I doubt they woudl do that.

ebrown, being insured and bonded is not just about trust, it's about protecting your arse and giving the client peace of mind. It also indicates responsibility and dedication. I am a relocated pet sitter from another state and I haven't started sitting here yet.....don't know if I will.....i have a pretty good job doing something else at the moment  but I would never ever ever pet sit without having insurance to cover myself. There are sooooo many horror stories out there that have happened that are not exactly the fault of the pet sitter. For example, if you are taking your client's dog for a walk and it's attacked by another dog. Guess who pays?? If the client leaves chocolate under the christmas tree and the dog eats the entire bag, guess who pays?? If you don't have biz insurance then your personal assets can be gone after, including your car, house, etc. Pllleeeeaaazzzz get insurance!!!

very true... and she should know the things that can happen if she has 5 yrs as a vet tech

had a someone watching their friends dog and the dog broke the leash and got hit by a car.... THIS person could not even pay for the exam fee... and it took over an hour for them to contact the owners.

this is not the only story I have like this.... There are some from pet sitters as well but I WILL not toss their stuff out there... but they did take care of the dogs. :yay:

you never know what can happen... so true... and owner was walking her dog last weekend and two GSD's jumped their 6' fence and attacked their dog while they were walking.... they are lucky they were not attacked. These two GSD's were very aggressive! And AC didnt do much about it :coffee:
