Anyone had experience with them. They are supposed to have hair like a goat instead of wool that needs shearing. We had sheep at one time and the wool was a PITA. We are thinking of doing the hair sheep for meat. Well, to sell as meat, dont think we could kill and butcher our own sheepies!

Yep, most of them are very hardy and do well on hay with minimum or no grain. They tend to be parasite resistant, and they shed out in the spring and don't require docking. They're very easy to raise.

They really do have hair like a goat, maybe even a little coarser. They are really interesting, we have a couple at the university. I want to get a couple for myself, but only for pets, or breeding.

They do grow wool, and get pretty wooly in the winters.
