Can you get on base? There's a nice program through the wellness center. If not, there's a wonderful lady that teaches over in the end of the building where Hyper Space used to be. Not the whole building just the back corner near the gas station. I can't think of the name of the place though.

CSM offers classes. A friend of mine use to teach them but I'm pretty sure she's not anymore. I have DVD's that I like a lot. I have a few of them so I'll have variety and its nice to be able to do it on my own schedule. I LOVE yoga!

Was gonna start a Yoga thread, but saw this one. Any suggestions for a yoga class in Waldorf? I heard they have one at the Civista Center on Old Washington Road, but don't know details on who to contact for the schedule. I know several people looking for a class.

I did find an old link on the forum from 2008, but the phone number contained in it for contacting Civista wasn't good. I was able to find out more by calling the Civista Info. line at 888-332-4847 . I was told the schedule is here:
Civista Medical Center | Hospital in Southern Maryland | La Plata, MD | Class Schedule (http://www.civista.org/fuseaction-NewsEvents.showClassSchedule.htm)
Sounds like these classes fill up fast.
Still interested in info. about other yoga classes in/near Waldorf.

Thanks - I was also hoping someone had been to some of the places and had opinion too.
I hear there are nude yoga classes now too - most folks I know certainly wouldn't knowingly walk into a nude yoga class intentionally. Although I'm sure some of the guys on this forum would LOL

I'm probably too far from you two to participate in an exchange of DVD's but I have:
Yoga Zone Gentle Yoga for Beginners
Yoga Class by Gary Bromley
Viniyogatherapy for low back, sacrum, and hips by Gary Kraftsow
A.M. Yoga for your week with Rodney Yee
Based on gas prices it may be cheaper to mail them back and forth LOL

No way - that style is done in a room heated to 105 degrees.
Being hot and sweaty for 90 minutes is not appealing ...

thats what appeals to me..lol. In ballet we always did our stretches after our warm-up..that way the room was warmer. It is much better for your muscles, and really helps with flexibility. sounds lovely to me..:killingme

The place in Wildewood has hot yoga. Not exactly bikram, but it's local!
From their website:
Are you ready for a personal “evolution?” Hot Power Yoga is based on the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga method and teaches to many levels allowing beginner, intermediate and advanced students to be challenged and comfortable. This practice is a combination of different yoga traditions and is practiced in a moderately heated room (85-90 degrees). Power yoga will dramatically build self-confidence and open channels to a calmer and content spirit while also strengthening and toning the whole body. Please bring your mat, a water bottle and a large towel.

I don't trade, I was just looking for some ideas. I like to try them on Netflix first (if available) to see if I want to buy. I usually do power/Vinyasa yoga but would like to be able to switch it up with something a little slower every now and again. I'll have to check these out!
