I find out I'm expecting again! It's been so long since I've been through this whole process, I've nearly forgotten where to begin...
I need to find an OB/GYN that has patience and I can feel as though I can talk openly too. My past two deliveries were both horrific experiences for me so I'm hoping this third time won't be nearly as bad...
If anyone here can advise me where to begin and go from there, that would be great!

Dr Alonzo is wonderful. She delivered me about 4 weeks ago via emergency c-section. She was great and she takes her time during office visits. She is in Calvert at the hospital.

I would not recommend Dr. Polko if you are considered a "high-risk" pregnancy for any reason. She now has three doctors in her office and all want to take charge of whatever condition you have, regardless of whether or not you see an external specialist to manage it or not. Too many conflicting demands makes for a LOT of unnecessary stress.
I'm seeing Carol DeHaven over in Dr. Tilley's office in Leonardtown. Been totally happy with her!

I have Dr. Alonzo also, I like her a lot, however... I have been waiting a MINIMUM of an hour in the waiting room before the 15 minute appointment... I find this very frustrating as I have a work schedule to keep...just curious if you went through this as well??

Wonder where the stats are for SOMD and the amount of "emergency" c-sections there are here compared with the national average.
Was going to say she doesn't t have to worry about delivering here. They'll find a reason after 5 for an emergency c-section.

I'd recommend Dr. Tilly. I just delivered my second of three children with him 4 weeks ago. He is great.

I'd recommend Dr. Tilly. I just delivered my second of three children with him 4 weeks ago. He is great.I'd rather give myself a hysterectomy than go see him. He was positively horrid. His bedside manner is about as comforting as Attila the Hun.

Dr Alawode in Waldorf is great but the wait time in his office can be long. He is rated one of the top 5 in md.
