Terrible. I came in the back gate. There were three vehicles spun out on Crystal Meth Rock Road by the airpark, so I went up and around. Actually, driving on roads that hadn't been salted or brined was a lot easier.

Remember CRE's official road clearing policy: clear the roads in front of people who count every hour on the hour, and the roads of everyone else if you feel like it.

Okay, this made me laugh, when I delivered pizza way back when, I thought that street should have been named that. :lmao:

Yup not too bad now, at least on the 'main' roads. We went to LP to get some new boots for small boy, on the way back I stopped at the landlords place by Seahorse. The road was plowed but still shiatty past the stables. The hill down to Seahorse... I was worried I was going to have to leave the van and walk home for a minute there. :roflmao: But, she clawed her way up NP. :yay: Rio is a mess, side roads off it are messy, but nowhere near as bad as last years storms.

I mean crap, it's just a little snow!! They wouldn't bother plowing this in the northern states!!

Actually that is not the official CRE policy, the policy is:
Begin plowing paved roads when the accumulation reaches 4 inches.
Begin plowing unpaved roads when the accumulation reaches 6 inches.
That is from policy and procedure #8,
in the case of today's snow, plowing the snow from the roads was leaving a sheet of ice. As for people who count.....I am the president of the board of directors for CRE, my road is unpaved and unplowed, so is the VP. So who are the people that count?

What is the policy for laying salt and sand?

The policy says:
As precipitation commences, begin spreading salt or chemicals on paved roads only. #Salt or chemicals will not be applied to unpaved roads.

It does not say sand, but we do use a large amount of sand on the roads,

IF the wiring on the trucks isn't so corroded they won't run. Didn't they have a problem with that last year?
