Has anyone been there lately? I am taking a good friend to dinner Monday night and would prefer to be in the Lusby area. A long time ago, I had one of the best steaks ever at Jake & Als. Then we went and had a few mediocre meals. Since I haven't eaten there is probably 2 years- is it a good place to take someone or will I regret it?

I have had great meals there ...and have had awful meals there. Can't figure them out.

What I am trying to figure out is if they are on the "good" or "not so good" cycle right now food wise?!
Besides the food quality, we have experienced the clueless versus informed ability of the servers.

We have never been disappointed by the food at Adams (same guys own so go figure).

I'd take my out of town guests to Jerry's..no steaks but the best food and service around.

Sit at the bar. The service is typically more efficient, and every time I've been unhappy at J&A's it was because of the server. Sluggish on the drink refills, leaving the food sit at pickup forever, etc.

But the bartenders are on it :yay:

I love Ruddy Duck but I think they are closed on Mondays. I will check.

The Ruddy Duck was great; as usual. Food was delicious and we had a pleasant and attentive server. Since my friend had never been there before, I was glad to have turned her on to the place.
