I'm tired of honey-baked hams.
I'm tired of honey-baked hams.
We have to go to my MIL's. I think she is going to serve a lamb part that was severed from some poor animals body in a cruel and painful fashion.
I will pass up this dead and now decaying uncooked blood dripping chunk of flesh and go for the taters and rolls (if they arent burnt)

MMMM for the ones by The Honey Baked Ham folks.... I just love those and rarely every get one. I just love the glaze, and am not talented enough in the kitchen to duplicate it. I hear it takes a blow torch - could be dangerous too LOL

Corned beef brisket and cabbage? It can't be JUST for St. Patty's day.

I vote for some good steaks cooked on the grill :howdy: AND the honey baked ham

Same here, there are only so many ways to prepare ham, and it still tastes like...well...ham.

That's what we're having (only we're going to have it tomorrow instead of Sunday). :pete:
So far, here's the tentative line-up (all new efforts I haven't tried to make yet):
- Prosciutto, tomato, and fontina cheese bruschetta
- Roasted shoulder of lamb
- Roast potatoes & onions w/ thyme
- Green beans w/ portabella and sesame seed
We'll see how it turns out. 81156

I'm going to make a Polish kielbasa. Not sure if I want to grill it or crock-pot it with sauerkraut. Maybe a bit of both....

Went veggie just before Thanksgiving.
Prius not in the plans. However, I do plan to add a second Turbo to the truck sometime this summer if that helps in any way.

Lamb, one of those love it or hate it meats. Slow-roasting it (around 300 for maybe four hours) sealed up w/vegs, etc.

Sounds good. :yay:
Not against healthy foods like a good salad or anything, I love those too. But when it comes to a good meal that has fattening ingredients, I say go for it. That's one of the things I've been paying attention to--good ingredients (regardless of their fat content). I want the food to taste good before anything else. :buddies:
who has a good scallop tater recipe that they would share?

I'm using this (http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/pommes-de-terre-a-la-boulangere/video/index.html) one as the reference for scalloped taters this weekend. Potatoes and onion layers, looks tasty.
...and so does the food...

Wanted cold water lobster tail, Delmonico steaks, and ham from the Honey Baked Ham store (love that crunchy coating) plus a few sides, but ended up with leftover baby back ribs from Famous Daves. Oh well at least the side of broccoli has fiber in it ..... that's a redeeming quality in a meal.
Our meal came out well, but the pic I took of the main course plate doesn't really show well. The meat looks too dark. :ohwell:
But the appetizer looks better (prosciutto, tomato, and fontina cheese brushcetta). It's even better the next day, just finished one.

I decided to put a zoom in of it anyhow, it looks better when it's a close-up. The dark part was really just the sauce (a reduction from all the cooked bits from the pan with mint added). And I forgot to use the sesame seed.

Thanks, vrai. :yay: It's something I'm really enjoying doing, and I'm glad to share pics of them out here (if they're presentable enough, sometimes food pics don't look as good as they did on the plate).
Favorite part of this meal was definitely the potatoes. Yukon golds are the best.
